Laz has requeted the list of our friends who have lost their lives this past year, so that we can remember them at this special time of the year.

It breaks my heart as I read through the list of friends who I have grown to love.

I will join Laz in being grateful for the time we were able to share with them, and for their strength and the strength of their caregivers who have been the ones to post here.

    You're missing Barb Opperman

You're missing Barb Opperman who I think had the sign on BarbeBarb.  She died on July 2.  I made a post about it back then.  I was given permission to post it.  I hadn't realized we lost Pepe.  I think I said that once before.  I have serious short term issues these days.  I am very thankful to be alive this holiday season and greatful to all of you all year.  I hope everyone has a beautiful Thanksgiving.  Prayers to the family of everyone on this list.

    Terrible

This list is just way to long.  It's sad to see this many names and thinking back on the stories that they shared with us.  They all shared their journey with us.  May they all have a very Blessed Thanksgiving dinner (if they eat in Heaven) at God's Banquet Table.

    Thank you Helen.

I try my best to keep up, but I know I've probably missed a couple.

Oh my! It would have been Barb's Birthday toady. She was only a month older than me.

Yes, Kim, I agree with you

Yes, Kim, I agree with you that the list is too long. It's really sad to read the list and my heart gets heavy.

    Thank you for remembering

It has been 7 months since Pat passed.  We would have celebrated our 32nd anniversary this month.  Wishing he was here for the holidays, he loved Christmas so much.  While he is greatly missed by me, our 2 children, his mother, and many brothers & sisters (he was 1 of 14 children) and too many nieces and nephews to count, we can always rely on each other to tell funny stories and reminisce of happier times. It has helped us to heal and cheers us when we are down.

Bless you all during this holiday season.  Wishing you strength and love,

    Ellen

    Too Many

Thank you Sue...They will be remembered...Continuing to wish those departed and their families still with us great peace and healthy healing.

P.S  Didn't realize we lost Pepe for some reason.  I feel as if there is more forgotten these days.

    Me too, Art

I think there are quite a few who we never hear about as they pass and their loved ones really don't know how or at their time of grief, do not want to get on to the forum. It is sad.

    Hello Ketz

I'm not familiar with either name.  Either way, we will remember these two people, as it really doesn't matter when they passed, the fact is, the were part of this forum, and therefore worthy of rememberance.

I found LizzyDavis, and sadly she passed away on August 25th, 2012.

    Hello Ellen

Thank you for joining us again. It sounds as though you are surrounded by love, which has to be a big help. 32 years together is wonderful, but oh how it must leave a hole in your life.

We're still here for you whenever you come to visit.

    I'm so Afraid

These people are so memorable but I'm afraid that the more we post about them the more that CSN will find out who they are and then take down their profile and wipe them clean from our board so I'm not wanting the ones that I've known that have passed to be acknowledged because I'll still go back and look at what they have been through.  Please reconsider posting deaths because CSN has a new approach to wiping everyone away with their profile the minute you list it.  I'm wanting to sometimes see their faces again and see what their treatment was.  Just a thought.  But I don't want to be taken from this board as to where one point was to another point in my story.  I'm a story - please let me keep me story.  I'll leave something behind here if I'm no longer posting and no one knows I've died but if they find out, I'm gone - that's sad.

    permanence

Wiping the bios is worse than vandals in the cemetery.   I do agree with Kim about missing old friends, and the prospect of being "disappeared".  I dislike the prospect us of going dark about our stories near the end just to avoid bio erasure.

I am kind of thinking that we need a reasonably stable offsite board to post our bios to, and then archive them permanently elsewhere (ahem).

Not posting deaths is a serious reduction in benefit to all, and will ultimately drive many elsewhere, off CSN.  Biographies are an important way we can see beyond the limitations of local and current (outdated) practices, and to be aware of misunderstood or unspoken problems as well as being with our friends.

    Not knowing is worse

Being left in the dark about those who have passed is worse for me than seeing their profile page diasappear. I have noticed that their posts and avatars are still repsent, and if we go back and read some old post, we can still feel their spirit and learn from their words.

I do think their profiles should remain, but also see how the site needs to protect them from being hijacked.

Its a hard call, but we do need to konw when our friends have move on from this world.
