Stomach flu and only one kidney

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had to deal with this? I'm worried about the hubs, he's come down with a nasty stomach flu courtesy of our 8 year old. It's puke central around here, and I'm doing my best to keep them both healthy but now I'm worried about the one kidney issue. If anyone has any tips while I wait for the doc to call back, feel free to throw then out there.

    Electrolytes

Do the best you can to keep both of them hydrated.  You might want to pick up some Pedialyte - it is good both for kids and adults - to allow them to ingest electrolytes that they need.

Good idea on the Pedialyte for him!

YES, I totally forgot about Pedialyte, and they make popsicles too so even better. Thanks again, Nano. Can't believe this slipped my mind. God knows I've dealt with this mess before. All I can say is I'm all about being enviro friendly most of the time but right now Clorox wipes are my best friend.

Update: his doctor asked to see him

Just for future reference, in case others read this, my husband's doctor did make him come in to get his levels checked. All I did was call and leave a message and they called back right away to get him in. I guess having one kidney and the stomach flu is enough cause for concern to get your blood work done. Thought I'd throw that out there. So far we are still waiting on tests, but I think he's fine. Headache, but fine.
