Hi everyone,

Have  any of you here had one or some of your tumors disappear? The doctors planned surgery for next week  and now they are not finding the tumors. Does anyone know what that means? I'm very worried. It was a good thing to know where there were!

    Phantom Tumours!!

To go from just being diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer, requiring an  "18 hour" surgery next week, to no sign of tumours at all, in a matter of days...Noo! That's a new one on me!

Well! as you say " It was a good thing to know where they were", at least!!

    There is many strange things

There is many strange things with your boyfriend from Brasil story. I would suggest you to be very careful as there is many scams on the internet involving cancer stories. People say they need money fast to receive treatment and once they're paid disappear.  It may not be the case here, but be careful if you only know this person virtually.

    disappearing money

I hate to be cynical but I've been waiting to hear the plea for money. This all smelled funny to me. And I am not insinuating that Camille was part of the scheme. The info from the patient on the other hand though.......... hum... I've been waiting to hear requests for cash to help with transportation and other related expenses. ...Having an aquaintance who he doesn't really know drive him halfway home and then what? He was going to walk home? You would think that he at least had taxi money. Camille, I bet you are only 14-16 years old and being taken advantage of. This all smells like a scam where some crook preys on vulnerable good hearted victims. Usually it is for money or sex. If I am wrong, I apologize. We've had this happen a time or two before. I had doubts from the very first post. Sorry to all if I am out of line to say so. Does this boyfiend have a name? Why isn't he asking us for help and information?

You asked if we know what that means.

Thats what it means to me.

    Oh thank you guys.

Oh thank you guys. That's very sweet. I know it sounds like that. I almost didn't want to post the question. But I've known him for a long time and he only just went back to Brazil a month ago. He hasn't asked me or anyone I know for money and I am only just starting to work this week, I really have no money for him to ask for anyway.

I had read about kindey cancer cells being the most common of cancer cells to spontaneously go into remission in the rare occasions that they do but I don't know what it really means and I also have read that it doesn't mean that they don't come back. So I am actually a bit more worried now. I hope you guys don't think I am crazy here. I think you are a wonderful support group and quiet honestly, so far where I get the best comfort and most realistic answers.

    I am 25.

    Worry! worry!

    Hi Camillez,

I don't think you are crazy but admit to having difficulty following your logic? You are saying something along the line.....that you think it is a possibility that your boyfriend's tumours have gone into spontaneous remission, and you don't know what such surprising news means, so now you are even more worried because there is a possibility that the tumours will come back!

The bottom line is if the tumours are gone, no matter the circumstance, then all's well.  Camillez, if I were you I would stop all the long distance worrying and go and have some fun.

    Makes no sense

Tumors don't disappear. Also, they don't even know it's kidney cancer for sure until they remove the tumor(s) and look at the pathology report (unless they do a biopsy, but they usually don't). I've never heard of kidney cancer as being the kind that spontaneosly disappears. In fact, the opposite. It's hard as hell to get rid of it.

Finally, kidney cancer rarely spreads from kidney to the intestines next. I've never heard anyone say it spread to their intestines next. After kidneys, it's lungs, bones, liver, brain, maybe some other organs like the pancreas (not in any order), but I've yet to hear a case where it turned up in the intestines and certainly not as the second site.

This just sounds weird. I've never heard of them operating on kidney cancer with lasers.

Oh, and there's no chemo that cures kidney cancer. At least not RCC.

This story sounds made up, confused, or ?.

    Just my 5 cents.

I hope whatever is wrong with him, he gets it taken care of and I sure hope the spontaneous remission didn't cost him anything.

    disappearing tumors

Camille, What's the latest on your boyfriend? Has he been given a clean bill of health? I would love to learn more since your last posting. His doctors must be stunned.

    Think it's over...

I have a feeling that this story may be over.  Over 2 weeks and no sign of her; probably means she figured out what was really going on.
