Sweet Sindy so GOOD to hear

Sweet Sindy so GOOD to hear from you!! Been wondering how you are..sorry for all this pain.

Rest/sleep is good as your body uses so much energy for healing.

    How about audio books? Music?

Keep a log of whatever crosses your mind. May prove interesting, funny, poignant, even profound.

You can always write to me privately. I am home all day mostly at my lap top.

Sending you gentle, gentle hugs my dear and LOTS of thoughts of healing with serenity.

How old are the twins? Not sure how you do it.

Keep us informed as to how you're doing. okay?

    Warmly, Jan

    P. S.

did you ever get one of those lumbar wraps for support?
I put dry ice inside of it next to my incision, but not right on skin.

It helped with the swelling, so hardly any pain.

And it helped when getting UP!

Hi Jan and, thank you for

Hi Jan and, thank you for your kind words.

I did get a lumbar wrap, similar to the one you suggested.  Along with several other ones, I might add.  It's just so hard finding one that actually feels comfy and does the job.  But, I tend to switch them around, changing them out, wearing different ones depending on what I'm doing or what kind of clothes I'm wearing.  But, for the time being, I am wearing the one I came home from hospital with.  I'm so short waisted my nurse cut it and it made all the difference!

My twins are 29 now and fully self sufficient and on their own so, my job is done where they are concerned.  I was one of the lucky ones in that, they were just easy breezy kids to raise.  Never a call from school or God forbid, the police.  Made good grades and kept their noses clean...made my job very easy.  Now, they're two of my best friends.

I'm still sitting here just chillin' in my recliner.  Feeling better every day.

Thanks again for the recommendation on the lumbar wrap.  I haven't used any ice at all but I may after I get my stitches out tomorrow.

    Have a good evening!!

I have been wondering if you had your surgery

It would have been better if you had been basking in the sun on a lovely beach surrounded by palm trees...but you needed this beast removed.  Glad it is over. Now on with the healing. Don't you have a 50th birthday coming up soon? Better get healed up, girl!

I used to hate Judge Judy, but now I love her. There is something satisfying about how she can get away with telling people that we are too polite to say....such as "get a job!" or "if you don't like it, move!". She is really awesome! We need more of her.

You are a strong one, no doubt about it. I admire your son for serving his country - but man, that is hard on mothers! Keep thinking of when he will be coming home.

So cozy up on that couch, read a good book, watch movies, and enjoy the serenity!!

    Big hugs,

    Jojo

    the big five oh

As a matter of fact Jojo, it's this Sunday.  I'm a bit nervous because I have a sneaky suspision hubby has something up his sleeve.  I happen to know that he called the butcher and ordered 20 choice filets that he plans to pick up at 6 o'clock Friday morning, on his way to work.  He and I are the only two people that live in our house, our son is deployed and daughter works out of state.  Someone must be eating all those steaks.  I can barely stand up straight and I haven't worn clothes since being home from the hospital cuz my belly is still swollen, so he better not be planning to surprise me with people.  That's the last thing I want right now.  Just in case tho, I colored my hair today.  It wasn't easy but the only thing worse than looking like a fat toad is looking like a fat toad with gray hair!

Thankfully, I gave my house a good deep cleaning prior to my surgery, knowing I wouldn't be doing much afterwards.  I could be wrong.  Maybe he just found a great price on the steaks and plans to freeze them, I don't know.  Just makes me nervous.  Time will tell.  I hate to sound ungrateful but, you can't just spring this kind of think on a woman!  If I could get my hands on his cell phone I just might snoop...hehehe

I'm going to feel really silly if I'm wrong, but, after 33 years I can read him pretty good.

Hugs back to you, Jojo!  I think of you and your son, daily.

    xoxo

    Let's see... your hubby

Let's see... your hubby talked you in to the tall step un vehicles...  yes, bet he just loves watching you step up in to it... yup, bet he does..!  No wonder you did not bite at me mentioning the pizza delivery guy...  heh..  Heal up..!!

Oh sorry, but laughing is good for the soul... Smile

Welcome back to our crappy group..!

    Ron

    ulterior motives? probably

Oh Ron!  What a mess you are.  Such a tease!  Laughing may well be good for the soul but it kills my tummy, so stop it!  You remind me of my hubby and you may well be right.  He tells me all the time, he hates to see me go but he loves to watch me leave.

I have yet to see a pizza delivery guy worth a second look, so when you mentioned it, it just conjured up the image of my last one that had few teeth and smelled of booze and b.o.  ech!!   However, the lawn sprinkler guy that came out to service our system...mighty fine.

I just love our crappy group!

    Hi Sindy

Nice to see you back! hopefully recovery will be fast and only a bad memory very soon. Happy birthday for Sunday, hopefully you will be relatively pain free and get to enjoy your day.

I am getting to have some time out this weekend spending it with 11 girlfriends in a luxury country house which is something we do every 6 months and having been doing for the past 10 years.  Keeps me sane! Lots of laughs, good food, good company and a few glasses of wine (not so much wine for me)

    Take care

    Sue xx

    sounds dreamy

Oh Sue, yay for you!  Your weekend plans sound wonderful!  And how nice to do it every six months.  I can't imagine.  I'm not much of a wine drinker myself although, I'm trying to acquire a taste for it as, so many of my friends drink it, including my daughter.  Then there's me, with my bottled Corona Light, looking all redneck amongst the wine drinkers.  I actually don't drink too much of anything (except h20) but when I do, it's beer or Vodka.  I'm not too adventurous.

Anyway, I hope your weekend with the girls is fab and wonderful new memories are made.

    Have fun and be safe!

    Sindy

I laughed out loud when I

I laughed out loud when I read your story about coloring your hair! Here's hoping your hubby just likes a good deal on steaks....but I have a feeling that he is planning something for his pretty little lady! Best advice I can give you is pick out an outfit that is comfy, and relax and enjoy as much as your body will let you, I am sure your friends and family will just want to see you and enjoy being with you. Your house is clean, your hubby will take care of the rest. You deserve to be pampered and to be celebrated!

    Big Hugs and Smiles!
