well, doesn't that just suck eggs.  D@mn it!

Okay well, since we're practically floating in the same boat, nothing to do except start the rowing and get away from these pesky tumors.

Fingers crossed, luck wished and here we go...

Too bad we cant climb in the same boat together. We could each grab an ore and row twice as fast.

Good luck Jeff , it seems that cancer was the easiest part for me. I'm currently battling nephrotic syndrome and taking 300 mg of cyclosporine. Rather ironic because of auto-immune disease I can't have any transplant ,so they treat me with the leading transplant drug. I hope that they can map out a successful battle plan and you wil have many years with your wife and your pets.. Ron.

Thanks Ron. It makes me said

Thanks Ron. It makes me said for all of the challanges you are face with post cancer as a result of the treatments. Its so ironic that the treatments are worse than the disease.

That is actually a picture of our male goat. He is on the couch. We let him in just for a few hours at night. I still have to take a picture of the baby. Our male goat in the picture is 38 pounds and pretty much full grown. The baby is only 2 1/2 pounds. She is the only survivor of a litter of 4 and ironically she was the runt but managed to survive. My wife and I decided to name her Hope since she seems to have defied the odds so far and with her coming into our lives at a time when help is so important.

    Dear Jeff

Dear Jeff, so sorry to hear that you are in this position.

It sounds as if you and your wife are standing strong and that is so very important.

Prayers for you as you develop a battle plan and move forward.

    Hugs,

    Marie who loves kitties

An MRI sounds like a good plan.

Let us know when you get the results.

Okay, I absolutely love that you bought a goat. Do you own a farm? That is awesome. I thought maybe you'd say you bought a dog, cat, bird, fish, etc. so I was surprised when you said a goat. It's adorable!!

    Lin

PS I'm hoping for great results on the MRI

Tecnically we don't have a farm bue have almost all of what you listed.

    2-dogs, 1-parrott, 3-ducks, 3-chickens, Coi fish pond, and now 3-Nigerian dwarf goats.

The picture is actually of our 10 month old buck, he weighs 38 pounds, the doe we just got weighs 2 1/2 pounds.

I will send pictures soon if I can figure out how to post them. As you can see my avatar is sideways. I couldnt figure out how to rotate it.

    Wow!

You have your own menagerie, how cool!

My brother just restarted his chemo. They lowered the dose and he's only getting flouracil and leucovorin every other week for now. He had 3 hospitalizations in one month from his last chemo, so they decided to ease him into it by starting off easy. He had actually thought about stopping altogether but after speaking with his oncologist, he decided to give it another try. We found out today that the chemo has weakened his heart muscle. The cardiologist said that a normal heart functions at 50% and my brother's functions at 37%. They have him on meds for that now. He seems to be tolerating the warfarin okay, too. I hired a nurse to check on him the alternate week when he's not getting chemo. It's a friend of the family who will check for all the things the visiting nurses missed. I actually made a list of things to look for, haha! With his limited mental capacity, he misses signs that are dangerous so I thought it's best to have a professional check on him. I see him a few times a week, but I have to get back to working again. Once the weather getting a little warmer, we are going to look into moving him and dad closer to me (they are about 25 minutes away) so I can keep a better watch over them.

    Thanks for asking. :)

    Jeff, I'm on my fourth

Jeff, I'm on my fourth reoccurence. I can tell you that chemo has once again come to my rescue. Last April I thought I had the flu, turns out I did and I my cancer came back to my liver and abdomen. I'd lost 25 pounds and I thought for sure it was the beginning of the end. Onc started my on Folfox, did 8 doses and it knock the hell out of the my cancer, granted there are a few spots remaining. Today I'm taking Erbitux/5FU/luecovrin every 3/4 weeks and  I'm in a much better place. Quality of life is very good in year 10 since dx! Good to hear you're in fighting mode, you've done this before and I'm sure at the very least you'll get your cancer in check! Take it easy...

I wish we had heard of

I wish we had heard of Folfox, Buster. I am glad you are kickin this thing in the a$$! :) Sounds like Jeff will too!

I hope you don't get that stupid erbitux rash! Yuck... that was sure nasty for Zach.

Thank you for your prayers. Funny thing is the pain is gone.

    Prayer is an amazing thing.

I'm sorry to hear this news, I imagine there's always the thought in the back of our minds of it coming back or the other shoe falling.

You're in my thoughts, hang in there!

The thought of it coming back

The thought of it coming back after my second recurrence has been closer to the front of my mind. That made the news much more manageble this time.

    Janelle and FOLFOX

FOLFOX is for Stage III and Zach was already very ill at his diagnosis.  Zach got the Stage IV drugs.  He was a lovely brother in Christ.

    God bless.
