2 year anniversary!!!

Monday was my 2 year anniversary of my cancer surgery. It was a long 11 1/2 hour procedure, but I came out with all clean margins.Today I am still in remission and so grateful to be here. I was stage 4a vaginal cancer and scared to death. The treatments were brutal, but they worked. I was so fortunate to have a great team of doctors, nurses and family support. Cancer is a horrible disease, but it can be beaten!!

    Happy anniversary!!!  So glad

Happy anniversary!!!  So glad you remain well and treatments were such a success for you.  Two years is a big milestone, your chance of recurrence has dramatically dropped.  Happy happy happy dance.  This is wonderful.  Hugs.

Thank you ccfighter!!!! One of my surgeons recently reminded me that the further out you get, you are less likely for recurrence. When I was dx & going through treatment I couldn't see this far ahead. Thank God I am able to see it now. I pray there will be a day when cancer is a thing of the past. I am so happy you are doing well, you have been fighting this hard. You have been much help, support & inspiration to many of us on this site. Thank you again!!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I am 11 yrs out from Vag CA, and it was a very long procedure, as well.  But hey, we're still here, and I can't help but feel that in 9 yrs, you'll be writing the same thing I just did.  You go, girl!!!!

Thank you Maggie Ann!!! It is so comforting to see someone else with the same cancer be 11 years out!!! It is rare to find other vaginal cancer survivors out there. I have met one who happened to work at the place where I had my MRIs. You are #2. Good luck to you & I wish you continued remission from this horrid disease!! Please keep in touch!!
