    Hi

    Hi Denise.

That sounds horrible!  Sorry you had to go through all that, but it sounds like the results will be good.  Please let us know when you get those good results back!

    That sounds just horrid!!

That sounds just horrid!! Colonoscopies sound rotton to begin with and then to go so  long without food is just plain awful. I sure hope at that your biopsy comes back negative?

What was your first meal after all that?

    First meal

First meal afterwards...FRENCH TOAST AND EGGS...BOY DID IT TASTE GOOD...BETTER THEN NORMAL

PREP IS THE PITS---TASTES HORRIABLE---I am sure much of it is in my head AFTER 2o yrs of doing these tests.

I am thinking all good..no concerns at the moment (per Dr) of what she saw to the naked eye.

The 'Prep' is the most difficult for me !

I've had 4 colonoscopies in 3 years - I am good to go until 5 p.m. then I turn into Nicky, Vimy Evil Twin from the big clean out - and no FOOD .

Can not imagine how many you've had to endure over 20 years...  B l e s s  YOUR  Heart, Denis.    The French Toast sounds delicious, and well deserved.

Please keep us posted ..   Fingers crossed, positive thoughts and prayers going your way.

Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.

Thanks for the reply-test is ok...nice sleep and over with ...PREP just terriable...they said better prep this time...due to less fluid prep...THEY LIED...OMG so gross.

I was so hungry at night...dry heaves etc...glad it's over for a YEAR...

IN years past I would be sick afterwards and still coulnd't eat so the sleeping med is better now a days..but that is it.

The year of my BC I had mammo, biopsy etc one day and two days later coloscopy. I remember that week all to well.

*colitis was great while on tamoxifen-flared up now since off it is since Sept*

    Prep.....

There are a couple different preps out there and some are actually better than others. I've had several colonoscopies as I was treated for anal cancer before my breast cancer. The last time (last yr) I absolutely could not get the prep down (Nulytly sp?) not even one drink without throwing up. My doc is assuming I'm allergic which worked out great because he now orders a Miralax type prep than can be mixed with tea, gatorade, juice, and has NO taste whatsoever, no lie! I also had to take a couple pills (ducolax I think). This prep routine takes a little longer, 2days vs one, but is overall much much better. I suck on lemon drops throughout and that helps also.

No matter what, still not my idea of fun, but ask about different preps in the future, it may work????

    Be well

    My sincere sympathies!

You brave, brave women.  Everyone complains about the prep, yet they keep giving us the same stuff!  So I don't get it.  Some of us have serious problems with it.!  I'm due this year (routine - 10 years) and so don't want the same prep as I had 10 years ago!  Prior to my hysterectomy, I had Miralax and it was so much more civilized than what I had prior to colonoscopy.  That was Golitely.  It was awful.

Denise, glad everything turned out well for you and hope the biopsies come back A ok.

    Thanks Suzanne...

when the first prep didnt' work (vomitied it all up ) i had to go home and take 24 pills on empty stomch........OMG I almost vomited them all up but managed to keep them done.

My daughter says in my head/physcololgial (could very well be after 20 yrs of getting sick etc) I do have phobia of stitches OMG (MY dr wrote letter stating I have a debilatating phobia after several surgeries on me)

So yes prep is nasty, yes sensitive stomach and yes some can be in my head...

    Suzanne.....

Ask for the Miralax prep this year for your colonoscopy, I agree it is a much more civilized prep.  I think Golitely is the same as the one I am allergic to, Nulitely, or something like that!  Someone told me that the Miralax prep is not usually the one first ordered by most docs but also that most will agree to it if asked.  (Its probably a political/payment issue) But, definately worth it to ask.

    Go-litely, yeah right!!

    Be well.
