Hi JBG - wishing we were all spending the day in the infusion room with you today to boost your spirits.  Hope it goes well and you are feeling okay.  Prayers and positive thoughts for you.

    here i

    am thanks everyone for thinking of me.well the reduced dosage seemed to help i didnt feel as bad but one thing happened that freaked me out.first the nurse said my liver enzymes were up so they had to check with the doc for the go ahead with chemo. about 20 minutes into infusion my husband said my eyes were yellow and commented the chemo must be working.joking i said the chemo doesnt do that.so when we left  he said my face was yellow i looked in the mirror in the car and sure enough my whole face was yellow talk about a scare.so we drove our 2 hours home as i slept most of the way after getting home my face was not yellow anymore so i dont know what was going on with that but i will keep an eye on it.thanks again and love to all....Godbless...johnnybegood

    That must have been scary for you. I'm glad you are tolerating it well so far. I know it can be difficult. Keep up the good fight. I'm praying for you.

    Many times I felt like my complexion was yellow during chemo. I hated to look at myself. I never thought much about it other than is the poison that is being pumped into me.

    I'm glad you felt that this treatment went better, though I wish you had turned around and had the Doctor check your yellowing skin colour. Did you call them? 

    My skin was defintiey a different colour when I was going through the chemo, I called it chemo skin. A mix between pale yellow and grey. 

    I know you're keeping an eye on it, and also know you've been travelling this road long enough to know what to do when your worried. 

    You're always in my thoughts and prayers.

    Glad you got through it,

    and I really hope this regimen is not so hard for you.  I had my chemo reduced by 20%, and according to my onc, that doesn't have much impact on the outcome, and it can really help with side effects.

    Maybe that yellow was from the shocked cancer cells in your liver going into a rapid collapse!

    JBG … might want to let your oncologist know about the

    yellowing of your skin and eyes.  My husband had this as well and some adjustments were made to his chemo regimen.  Did you also experience in loose stools, itching, or nausea? In my husband's case, it was jaundice caused by an excess accumulation of bile which he was not able to eliminate effectively. It might also just be from the chemo itself that has a temporary affect of impairing liver function.  

    The important thing is that it went away!  Glad to hear that you were not alone during your treatment  Having your husband with you must have been a great comfort .

    You're so tough, J.  You're a beacon of light for me with your spleen success as I'm fighting very hard for the opportunity to follow in your footsteps  if my platelets could rise by doing the surgery.   I've used your case as example of working.
