I have a question about pain after an implant

I had my implant surgery August of last year and for the past couple of weeks I have been getting a dull achy pain in my implanted breast.  The pain is comes and goes and is not constant.  Has anyone had this problem and should I call my plastic surgeon or my oncologist about this?  Thanks in advance for your help.

Hugs,

Mommaellen

Yes I would ask either or

Yes I would ask either or both, no harm done.  I think scar tissue, nerves etc does cause some discomfort but any worries just ask them, best be on the safe side.  I had pain in a small area and got it checked and cleared.

    Never Assume

    Dear Mommaellen,

Never assume.  Always tell your doctors when something is not normal.  I am betting that it is "nerves waking up" because the sensation comes and goes.  BUT always let your doctor know what is going on in the breast.  Never assume that it is nothing.  It makes them smarter also when they hear what is going on with you.

In my left reconstructed breast that did not have cancer, over the course of a year (now 5 years) I will get a jabbing pain...now maybe twice a year.  I even describe the weather...sunny day, raining day, cloudy day, warm day, cold day, etc.   I always let my plastic surgeon and his assistant know about it via email and tell them to make a copy of my email and put in it in my records.  I also ask for confirmation that they have seen my email so that I am assured that the information gets in my file.

    Lots of Hugs,

    Janelle
