Possible cervical cancer?

in Gynecological Cancers (other than ovarian and uterine) #1


In 2008 I had an abnormal pap, went in for further tests, was told to come back in three months. When I went back in I had CIN III removed from my cervix. Two days after it was found. A few months ago I went back for a check up and CIN I is found. I have been waiting for my Dr. to call with my referral for the Gyno and breast care specialist (a lump has also been found and verified via mammogram and ultrasound). I've heard nothing. I've been experiencing terrible periods that last longer and have huge clots. Now, after 8 days of being off an 8 day cycle, I've started bleeding again... 3 days now... Not like a period though. watery blood... Idk what is going on!! Has anyone experienced this??

    Irregular bleeding can be different things

    I know waiting is hard, but this does NOT sound right and keep pushing for an answer.  If they find you have cancer, you want a gynecological oncologist - not just a gynecologist.   I was fortunate that my gynecologist turned me over to one - I didn't know they existed - but these doctors truly KNOW how to treat below the belt cancers.  These can be agressive cancers and they will know the latest and greatest that you need.

    I am a Uterine board woman, but there is a lot of crossover between this, the Ovarian board and Uterine board.  there is no one board for Cervical cancer and all the women, and they are GREAT ones, who have had this chat here.  Find out what you have going on and ask anything you want.

    I plan on making an appointment in the morning. Or at least reminding them that I was supposed to be seeing other Dr.s already. I'm trying to breathe and stay calm... Although my gut tells me to get ready for a fight. Lol, trying to find something online that says 'Oh yeah, that's all normal' isn't working out so well... Thank you for responding. Just knowing someone is out there makes such a deference on one's nerves! <3

    I am glad you found this site early

    I did not find this until very late in my treatments.  As I read more and more posts I thought how great it would have been to find it early, so you are very lucky there.  Your fight may not just be with a disease, sometimes it is with doctors offices (as you are seeing).  I am sorry to hear that people have these fights.  I am not sure I would have known what to do if my gyn didn't automatically turn it over to a gyn/onc.

    I know I made the oncologist (part of the gyn/onc team) with the questions my sister wanted me to ask, and I flat out told her, "I am sure the internet makes you crazy, but these are the questions my sister told me to ask and I am a terrible liar so I have to ask".
