Nights Sweats

Folks,

I have a quick question for you.  By now you know I've gone through an alphabet soup of treatments trying to kill this chemo resistant DLBCL and get my "dairy air" into SCT.  I've had 2 R-CHOP, 3 R-DHAC, and now 1 R-ICE with a second treatment coming up in a little over a week.

I had some pretty bad night sweats when first Dx and then during the first couple treatments but none in the last several weeks.  The last 3 nights I have had very mild night sweats.

They haven't been bad...no where near drenching...barely notice any sweat on my t-shirt that I sleep in.  More like sweating around my neck and in my hair (what's left).  Last night I was worried because I thought the night sweats were suppose to stop.  I did a google search on 'sweats after chemo' and it seems to happen from time to time.

Anyone have this happen?  I'd like to hear from guys too (no offense...but just to eliminate any menapause possibilities).

Karl

    Karl,

There's not much I can say about night sweats. I was asymtomatic. I know there are a lot ofthings that can cause them, but having Lymphoma makes for concern. Be sure to call the Dr. tomorrow and see what they say. John

    Hi Karl,
    I agree with John,

    Hi Karl,

I agree with John, to call your oncologist and merely mention this to him. I know that while Kyle was undergoing CHOPE he did have a couple nights of little night sweats which of course, our human nature to overanalyze and freak. However, his oncologist was not too concerned and stated that sometimes chemo does cause occasionally night sweats.

    Thanks...

I appreciate the feedback.  I was in the clinic this morning for some blood work and had planned on mentioning it to the nurse (to tell the doctor).  The doctor said that it's probably due to the increase dosage of Neupogen (to get ready for SC collection this week) because my blood work looks OK.

    Thanks all!

    I'm glad to hear that your blood tests were good this morning and that your doctor has reassured you regarding your hot flashes. {#emotions_dlg.smile}

    Hugs,

Glad to hear the Dr. reassured you. Even so, I know you still have thoughts in the back of your head.  Joh

    I like the terminology hot

I like the terminology hot flashes as opposed to drenching night sweats. :)

Karl, glad to hear that it is nothing alarming.

    Yeah for stem cell collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Night sweats

Hi Karl -  Had pretty heavy night sweats from my DLBCL - because I am female doctors had attributed them to menopause even though I had a hysterectomy.  They went away on day 3 of my first rEPOCH cycle - had only a couple since. All the best to you
