No Liver Lesions!

As you all know my CT on Moday showed a questionable small spot. We followed up with a liver ultrasound and it shows all clear. What a relief!!!

So now we "just" have to cut this sucker out, get some more chemo and we should be good. Not crazy about losing my Sphincter and the permanent colostomy, but at least nobody can call me an "arshole" after that lol.

Thank you to all of you to help me to hold it together and I m counting on you during the surgery phase as well.

Laz

Hello Laz, Great news for the no liver lesion.  Very nice picture of you and your beautiful bride.  I know you probably have received 2nd opinions on the colostomy, but have you heard of a J loop?  I know your a denist, and your probably very up to date on all the tx options, but I thought I would throw that out there.  I wish you the best.  Lori

    Dear Lori

My tumor is sitting right on the sphincter and could not be removed with clean margins if you wanted to save the sphincter.

Im ok with that. I want to live.

    Dear Mary,

The surgery will be in 2-3 weeks at Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles.

Don't know the exact date yet.

    Laz......

Please feel free to pm me with any questions that you may have regarding the colostomy. I have had mine for 2.5yrs now. I will admit there was a period of adjustment, finding out what worked best for my lifestyle........but in time it has become totally managable. I do reccommend on-line or in-person support with an ostomy group at least at first. Good luck on this part of your journey......let the healing begin!!!!!!

I understand, I didn't realize it was right on the sphincter.  I know you will live just fine with a colostomy.  My dad had a colostomy and did very well, he was able to have it reversed after an severe infection with diverticulitus was cleared up.  I know if that was what I had to do I certainly would, because I want to live too.  I have read about the colostmy from posters that have them and how they do everthing they ever did before.

I had anal cancer, then lung, in which I had vats for removal of my lower right lobe.  If I hadn't been scanned for the anal cancer the lung nodule wouldn't have been caught. So far so good on both.

I wish you the best for your upcoming surgery.  Lori

Glad to hear the liver results were clear, I will be thinking of you for your upcoming surgery and wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery, my tumor is also on the sphincter and with past surgeries I was told it may result in a colostomy as well
