Stage 4 NSLC

My dad was diagnosed 3 years ago with NSLC followed by a total left lung pleurectomy. Last year, the caner was recurrent at the same location, and then he had radiation and chemo. The tumor was shrunk after that.

However, last CT scan and a biopsy showed that the same type of cancer invaded his pleura in that location.

The oncologist scheduled him two chemos appointments. The first one is tomorrow. I am so worried these and I did not tell my parents that my dad's cancer is at stage 4 now because the I wrote an email to his oncologist.

    Welcome.

Wow.  He's been through do much already.  His sounds like a fighter and I pray that these next two chemos will stop the progression.

    Thank you Denny! My family

Thank you Denny! My family and I will always stand by his side to fight against the cancer. He just had his first round of chemo. Everything goes well.

You sound like a great caring kid.  Many people live many years with stage IV.  My husband is stage IV also (diagnosed 11/12) , he had 8 rounds of chemo and his tumors shrunk.  Had a few month break and will soon start chemo again.  Do not give up faith.  As I've heard many people say, we don't come with a date stamp.  Wishing you and your family lots of luck.

    God bless

    Thank you everyone...

    Thank you!

However, the result after two chemos showed the tumors have grown in some area... The doctor offered him another type of chemo but my father and our family decided to refuse the chemo due to signficant sign effect from chemo.

Anyway, does anyone know how we have order Tarceva for my father to try?
