in Breast Cancer #1

A few days ago I read where some shampoos can cause breast cancer.I think it was saiid something like 68 different ones.So I go get my shampoo bottle and it's one of those.Havent sued it in 2 days and will be gling to the store and checking all the ingredient labels.Washed my hair last night with my bubble bath,.Much simpler ingredients.

This is the ingredient.cocomidepropyl.I was talking to a lady yesterday and she said she read the same thing  I found it through my Yahoo mail.  

IMO I think it will be quite time consuming to go through all the shampoos for something safe.Not sure what the store would think???? 

I use Herbal Esscence. IMO nothing Herbal about it.

    Dear Lynn,

    Breast cancer is the oldest disease recorded through time, going back to 490 BC (Bathsheba's Breast by James Olson).  I don't believe that ingredient cocomidepropyl was in the shampoos women were using since that time frame.  Otherwise, more women would have died.

    Use the shampoo that pleases you and don't worry about what it's given you, at least breast cancer.  

    What  source did Yahoo give for this information.   Unless they were quoting NCI, the FDA, ACS, Mayo Clinic.  I have never read that they even know the cause of breast cancer.

    I read most of it

    I read most of the article but not all.Just wondered what the ingredient was.

    I believe my breast cancer is hereditary.Mom, me, niece and sister but my dx came within 5 months my grandson did quite a blow(accidental) to my left breast,The breast I had with benign tumors for years,Finally the malignant.That blow was the aggravation.My friend had the same thing happen with her.No family history with her but her granddaughter hit her breast and not long after cancer was found,

    I agree SIROD.Everytime we pick up the paper or see a article something causes cancer.Now for this cancer scare of shampoo I didn't feel it would cause breast cancer but wondered about other types of cancer. You just get tired of reading so much of it.

    I am a source kind of person.  I always want to know where they picked up their information.  To much "Dragnet" when I was young.  Your more than likely much younger than I am and don't even remember that 1950 TV show.  "Just the facts, mam, just facts".  I doubt that I would watch the show today but back then, they didn't have much choices on Friday night.

    If the source isn't good, I don't read it.

    I wish so many people here weren't so vulnerable to these types of articles and websites. Perhaps there should be a place here to teach you hiow to realize when there is a hidden agenda.
