Hello all. Well my CEA is now at 149, almost the same as when I had mets in the liver but CT scans are still clear.  PET in a couple weeks  if insurance aproves.  Meanwhile this week, I passed two kidney stones, and had a root canal.  Busy, busY!  Lol.

Mom is still in the hospital but stable, unbelievable!   She is ready to come home!

I'm two months shy of my 5 year mark with this Cancer, blessed for these years and plan to be here for many more.

Your friend

Raquel

    Hi Nana

    Hi Nana,

Nice to see this picture of a beautifull Lady smiling. CEA might be up because of kidneystone, yuck, that hurts.

mine went up with a bladder infection.

    Wishing you well,

    Marjan

    Hi

    Hi Raquel

I'm glad your CT scan was clear. I hope your PET scan is too. I'm kind of new to all of this, been helping my brother who was diagnosed in 2011 and now has mets in the lung and liver. I didn't know that the insurance company can deny tests or surgery if the doctor requests it. Does this happen often? So far my brother has been pretty lucky.

Anyway, good luck. I hope you keep kicking cancer's butt! :)

    Yes, they have restrictions.

Yes, they have restrictions. Reason can vary depends on year of illness, time since last scan, and then there's evidence of disease.  I have two against me. Had a PET less then a year ago, I'm in year 4 and no evidence Disease. Guess that's three strikes.

Good lwith to your brother.  Attitude and diet. Keep fighting!

    Hi Raquel,
    Lovely pic!  I,

    Hi Raquel,

Lovely pic!  I, too, have rising CEA and clear scans. Ambiguity is one of the many difficult parts of this disease. Frustrating.

Prayers for your Mom.  You have strong DNA....may it serve you well.

    great picture

Not what I imagined from your nickname! Could the cea be from the kidney stones? Husband onc said she had a patient whose cea kept rising and it turned out to be gallstones.

I see Marjan had the same thought...I hope we are right!
