Hello,

I'm from rural Illinois, straight west of Chicago. I was diagnosed in Jan. 2008, at age 57, with stage IB ovarian cancer. I actually felt my tumor and had surgery only. I'm a retired elementary school librarian, married for 44 years (to a husband who has had 3 different cancers). We have 2 adult sons. One son is single and the other has produced 2 adorable granddaughters. We like to read, travel, and garden.

I joined the ACOR list 5 years ago and I look forward to reading and sharing information. We often recommended books and movies to each other and I noticed Proof of Heaven, which I read and loved this year, recommended by someone on this site.

Welcome. And congratulations on your continued health.

A good friend of mine was on the ACOR board, and told me it was going to close.  I don't know what name she used there, but I'm sure she talked a lot about Iscador.  Maybe she will join here

    Hi Barb!

Thank you for the introduction.  In your long marriage, it sounds like you and your husband have really supported each other through "sickness and health", which is wonderful.  Wishing you and your husband many, many more years of health and happiness.

    Thanks

for taking the time to write. I just read your astute (May 2013) appraisal of the Smart Patients site, which gives me a bit of a headache.

Barb, I tested out SmartPatients before they started to transfer gyno users from ACOR. It felt like talking to myself in an empty room. I have not been back since May, hopefully they had some positive changes and a larger crowd.

In any case former ACOR list users are very welcome on CSN.
