Hello to Cobra and to everyone.

Hello to all and thanks John for asking about me. I check in when I can and I was so sad to read about Dixie Girl and Nathan that I didn't know what to even say. God bless them both. There are so many of you that I don't know yet and I am sure that is my loss. I see Sue can still be counted on to give and gather such good information with a generous spirit. Hi Sue!!  A little concerned about Vinny and hope he is indeed well. Also the others that are missing from my old group, I hope they are all well too. I am doing well and as of last February remain in remission. I will have my next scan in November. My MD was comfortable going 9 months but not a year yet. I do miss the friendships here and will post more often. It's such an important resource when you are dealing with the meat of all of this and are so scared and alone. I want to be able to return here if I need to but also know I need to add my support during good times too. It's way too easy to get caught up with working and life and time constraints etc. that before you know it you're a stranger. So as a refresher I was diagnosed with FNHL grade 1-2, stage 3-4A in July of 2008. I was in one form of TX or another for 2 and 1/2 years including a clinical trial, R Chop and finally finishing with RIT (Zevalin) in April of 2010. I acheived remission and remain there. Blessings to all. MaryWink

    Love hearing from Ya'

    Mary,

Always love hearing from you. So glad you are still in remission. There's nothing saying you won't remain there. It's just the thought all the time in the back of our head that it won't last. It makes us realize we are not indestructable any longer. If we really think about it there's nothing saying anybody out there will not wind up with some kind of cancer. It's just that we realize it because it has touched us. Every time I hear from you I always think back to when I first posted back in 2010. You and Catwink were the ones that responded to me first. I haven't seen any post from her lately. I kope she is doing well. There are so many that never post and it makes me wonder about them. Just keep up the good work and jump back in when you get a chance.  I know how things get in the way sometimes. Life is there to be lived. Take care.  John

    "HI"!

    Hi Mary,

So glad you popped in! I just had a feeling you were doing good and just busy with work and life. Yes...I'm still here putting my 2 cents in when time allows! I've been doing pretty good except for a few bumps here and there. My latest bump was a short bout with Gout..(poetic)Wink in my right ankle. I swear Mary...I felt just fine all day (last Sunday) but by early evening, out of no where, my ankle swelled up like a balloon. Couldn't walk or stand on it and hurt like the dickins! WSent to E.R on Monday and was put on a strong anti inflamation med which cleared it all up within days. Last March I had 2 bouts with shingles and don't EVER want those nasty things again. Lizzie is growing like a weed and I also have a new Great grandson...baby Charley. He will be 5 mo's old on the 5th. I posted a picture of him on my expression page...take a look see...he's just a little doll! I'm so glad you are doing well...sure hope our other buddies that haven't posted lately are also doing well. I worry about everyone! You take care Mary and know we are always here. Talk to you soon....Sue

    Big Hello!

So good to hear from you. We have a special history and I remember it all very well. So glad you are doing well. Yes the thought of a recurrance always looms but I am getting used to it and know that there are ways to deal with it should that happen. If I can't enjoy the "now" then I worked pretty hard for no pay off! I really want to invite all of our old friends to pop in. It is hard to do when you have been AWOL for awhile but I feel that everyone understands, we are all different and have different lives and responsibilites but we do have this in common and it's a biggie that only you Guy's get. So just a few lines would mean so much. OK John I am down off of your soap box!! LOL.You take care also and I will chat with you soon. Mary

    Hello Sue!

Well congratulations and he is so very cute. Are they brother and sister? If I remember correctly you have two sons right? Lizzy is also such a doll and is getting so big. The twins are 3 now and a ton of fun, chaos all the time!! Do you still babysit? I am so glad to hear you are hanging in there too.  Ah yes bumps in the road happen and I am sorry to hear about the Gout bout (haha). I have not had it but have heard how painful it is. Thankfully they can treat it effectively. Boy those Shingles sure seem to be common post chemo. Are you planning to get the vaccine? I just noticed in your post you said Great grandson!!! Say what?? It's always so good to hear from you. This feels like old home week. Also miss the rest of the old group and wonder and worry. Looks like there are some great new folks too.  Will chat again soon.  Mary
