Sorry to hear the news but glad you are having surgery so soon. You said Dr couldn't go past obstruction with scope, I was just wondering were you having any bowel movement problems. I know when I finally went to Dr that I could barely go at all. Is it in a different part of colon than your original tumor? How could it have been missed on CT and Pet? Even though it is a fast growing cancer - it couldn't have grown to totally obstruct you in a few weeks. Do they or you plan to do any chemo follow up? Good luck with surgery, I'm sure you are just wanting to get it out.
    Sandy :)

    Oh so many questions

First question off, they saw this tumor almost 6 months ago, and had put possible new primary, but then the  last PT/CT scan it had disappeared, as they put it "completely resolved" and the next CT scan done elsewhere a week later before liver surgery also showed NO tumor.  Yet it hadn't resolved itself, it hadn't gone away, unless it had really shrunk and grown back in 8 weeks, who knows but the scope is what detected it was still there.  She said she could not get around it.  That it was just by the corner to the sigmoid and she couldnt get the scope around it and said she really tried. Bowel movements have been painful, but normal for me, what concerned me was a really small bit of congealing blood showing up on occasion and a pain that at times feels like organs ripping apart on my right side (again wrong side for where tumor is) if they get it all will probably not do chemo follow up.  And originally when first diagnosed with colon cancer they said it was in sigmoid, but scope just before surgery showed it in cecum (or however they spell it) on right side not left side as the scans had shown.  So this new one in on opposite side of original tumor.

    Surgery date

The only thing I know is it won't be before August 11th, I have a plane ticket to Ohio that week and won't be back until the 11th.  Daughter and 2 grandchildren there I've been looking forward to seeing after the liver resection. :)

    Thanks Hun

I'll be getting rid of this tumor too.  Happy it was found and happier it can be removed!  Keep those shitkickers handy, got to kick this tumor's arse on down and out!

    Tumor

So last August when George had surgery for scar tissue they found a dead  tumor in small intestine.   He was on chemo for rising CEA.   He has pet scans & CT scans & this tumor didn't show up .  I just don't get all this stuff.  Since they didn't see it on scans they stitched him right where dead tumor was and so stitches didn't hold, next day they had to take him back to surgery as he was bleeding, was a disaster.  He came close to not making it.

We have been all over Northwest last three weeks just taking a break.

Hang in there George & Dyan

    So Glad

You were able to have a nice break from all this! Man, that sucks on the dead tumor, yep those don't show up on the scans though.  But my surgeons all say before surgery they'll look around to see if they see anything, you think his would have done so too.

Hope you had a wonderful time!
