Should anyone wish to read about my own battle with the Dragon (I call it my Dance with the Dragon... you can dance with a dragon, but one slip and he's gonna eat you!)you can find it online at:http://ngc1514.com/Dragon/

The "D" in Dragon must be capitalized.

The page has not been updated since 2007, but many people have found it interesting. Some call it the best look at the after-surgery recovery found on the web. I don't take credit for that. My wife is a doctor and she wrote the entries for the month after surgery. It gives a different perspective seen through the eyes of a physician.

    Thank you for sharing your journey.
    It is very inspiring "Dancing with the Dragon"

    This week I will have CAT scan and simulation radiation (something like that), and by Monday I will meet my new Oncologist. Right after this appoitment, My journey will begin. I will have Radiation for 25 days (15 minutes every day), Chemo will be decided this Monday.

    Amazing.

    It's been more than 3 years since I last signed on here.  To all those going through this awful disease, my heart goes out to you.

    I will be a 13 year survivor on October 6th, 2013.  Was diagnosed on 10/6/2000 as Stage 2B, had 6 chemo treatments with 5FU, Taxol and Cisplatin, 25 radiation treatments and then a transthoracic esophagectomy on 4/9/2001.  A few bumps in the road, but still doing well.

    Just came across the Link for this place and see I haven’t been on here since July 2013.

    if anyone reads this, I’m coming up on my 22nd anniversary since diagnosis (Oct 2000) and passed the 21st anniversary since surgery (April 2001).

    I am as surprised as anyone to still be here !
