One of the first things a cancer patient will hear from people giving them advice beyond conventional treatment is that they need to keep their body alkaline, with diet and alkaline water.  The science, however, does not support this concept:

    Thank you for the information.  To date, I have not ventured beyond conventional treatment but who knows what I might decide to do in the future.  If so, I would not want to be steered by inaccurate information, so I appreciate your "heads up".
