Mother with EC - Newly Diagnosed

I just came across this chatroom and am very grateful that I found this. My mother was recently diagnosed with EC and is in the process of having tests done.  They are not sure at this point what stage it is in, they think stage 3 or 4. The tests in the next few weeks will confirm this.

I have done so much research on the internet, a lot of is not very positive for the outcome.  I'm glad that there are personal stories here of people who are living with this and have been for a number of years.

At this point my mother thinks that she will have radiation, but not chemo.  Although she may change her mind... Does anyone have any thoughts on this?  We live in Canada so insurance is not an issue.

I will also get the 'knockout' book to read as a lot of my research supports this as well.

I am very thankful that this chatroom is here.  I am sure I will visit frequently during this journey.

    Your mother

I am sorry to hear about your mother.  This beast as we call it is horrible.  My only advice to you is to let your Mother make her own decisions.  Don't try to talk her into something she doesn't want.  Radiation has its side effects just like chemo does.  Surgery does too.  We all call radiation the gift that keeps giving today, tomorrow and in the future.

Wishing the best to you and your mother -- Sharon
