I am having a CT scan tomorrow and will see oncologist for results on Friday (Australian time). Getting a little (lot) nervous than any previous scan I have had due to last scan in March revealing metastatic disease and getting scared there will be more little nasties rearing their ugly heads. Just putting it out there for some cyber luck. Always trying to keep a positive mind but "scanxiety" is here.

    No problems mate!!!!

Just wondering if you started any kind of treatment after the March scan?  If you did then there is every chance that you will show response... if no treatment yet then you may get a better idea of how to attack it based on 3 month difference.  Don't worry about unknown possibilities...we've all been there and know that the "unknown" is the greatest fear of all...... and I'll take 5 shrimps from the barbie please........

Thanks for your thoughts and good wishes everyone. I will let you all know how I get on after Friday's appointment.

Gordon, in response to your query - I had 12 sessions of radiotherapy for lesion on spine and am due to have thyroid surgery on 4 July. The biopsy on my thyroid nodule was inconclusive. Surgeon s not yet sure how much of the thyroid will be taken until he operates. The CT tomorrow is check the success of the radiotherapy and also to check any progress of small lesion on psoas muscle. Hopefully, my oncologist will have a treatment strategy for me after review if scan results. Whether any treatment will then be delayed until after I have my surgery remains unknown. Would just like to get get started on something ASAP so I feel like Iam doing something.

Would be happy to throw another shrimp on the barbie. Paul Hogan and the Australian tourism board had a lot to answer for in those old commercials. For a start I have never heard an Australian call a prawn a shrimp and really is not a typical BBQ item. I guess throw another steak or snag (aka sausage) on the barbie doesn't have the same ring. BBQs not so regular now we have hit winter.

    shrimps vs prawns.....

Well......1)  I agree that prawns and shrimp should never be confused.... 2)  Dirty Rotten Scoundrels perpetuated the "shrimps on the barbie" two years after Hogan and company did....3)  Being from Minnesota as I am, we have the stigma of "FARGO" to deal with don't ya know.  Golly gee it's agravating to think that people think we actually talk like that 'hon.  We are actually the home of passive/AGGRESIVE and you better believe it.  So just sit down to a little bit of hot dish and feel just peachy dearie.

    Will have to have another

Will have to have another look at Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Really can't recall seeing the movie in it's entirety even though it was one of my late husband's favourite movies of all time. His and my movie tastes were very different!

Just back from having the scan, now the long wait for results.

    how about some lamb instead?????

Well, if you have time to fill it might be a good time to watch "Scoundrels" now...  if your schedule is full just race toward the end... the infamous line occurs when "The Jackal" brings a boatload of suckers for the trio to fleece....and instead of shrimp, I think some lamb chops would be great for dinner.... with a glass ??bottle?? or two of Shiraz.....might be a great celebratory meal when you get home Friday from the doctor!!!!!!
