    Good News

Yay! My hemoglobin went from 8.7 to 10.8 in 4 weeks. Not quite back to "normal" yet but definately moving in the right direction. No transfusion. No Bone Marrow Biopsy. Nothing medically to do for another 4 weeks.

Thanks again for all the good humor and the care and concern.

I hope everyone is having a blessed weekend.

    Great News

Rocquie; Awesome news - keep up the good work- do you juice? I've read so many wonderful articles about juicing fruits and veggies together for healing purposes. You may want to try it if you haven't as yet. Also, I eat lots of blueberry's and strawberry's for anti-cancer purposes. Big hugs from here- God bless- Steve

I am a health food nut from way back. I don't juice per se because I don't have a juicer. But I do use my blender every morning to make a smoothie. I use fresh fruits and vegetables, along with yogurt, cottage cheese, soy or almond milk. I love and use fresh ginger. I use a high quality protein powder which also contains good multi-vitamins and phyto nutrients. I also take some additional supplements: Vitamin E for chemo brain, biotin for hair growth, alpha lipoic acid for peripheral neuropathy.

My doctor did not approve of this regimen until I finished chemo. (Other than the fresh fruits and vegetables). He said there is evidence that some of the antioxidant supplements, which protect cells, actually protect cancer cells as well.  Don't want that!

Continued good health to you and many thanks,

    Rocquie

    Funny thing about chemo brain

Rocquie: Everytime I can't think of something while I'm speaking to my family and friends I point to my brain with my finger and say "sorry chemo brain onboard". Last week my 2 year old grandaughter heard me say that and said "grandpaw is your brain going on a trip on an airplane" it so cracked me up-she's so sweet and smart. ha ha

    Too cute

I would say "out of the mouths of babes" but don't think that is exactly what Jesus meant Laughing

    Steve

I wasn't talking about your granddaughter, I was answering Rocquie's post on the 16th.  My post was supposed to follow hers, I thought.

    hopefully funny....

Ok so when I was a kid my brother, our friends & I had a pretty odd sense of humor. I think that's why I'm able to do the job I do now, everyone I work with has the same twisted sense of humor & it gets us through the day. So if this story offends anyone PLEASE forgive me....I'm hoping it makes someone laugh. (This happened when these boys were like 10 or 12 years old, I wasn't there this so they could have made it up, but they did tell me this back in the 80's lol)

So my brother & his friend liked to make prank calls back in the 80's before the caller ID came out lol. There was a doctor somewhere locally named Dr Lipschitz. My brother's friend Keith calls the doctor's office, gets the receptionist and tells her he has a serious question to ask. She had to know it was coming, really. You can probably guess where this is going. But she tells him to go ahead.

He says, how do you pronounce the doctor's name? She tells him. He proceeds to ask her "If his lip shi&% then what does his as% do?"
