Caught the fish, made a link, need help with pic

I would like to use this as a profile pic but my membership page has stumped me on trying to upload it.  I figured out how to make a clickable link to the photo of me with a black drum that I caught surfcasting from the beach on Alligator Point.  Would appreciate any suggestions on how to convert it to a profile pic.  Thanks, y'all.  Link:

    Here You Go...

    D

To make it an avatar, you'll have to do this...

First resize it to something equalt to 150 x 150 pixels, most any photo editor will let you do this.

Then go to My CSN Space, upper left..

    Go to EDIT

Scroll down to upload photo, and browse to where your photo is stored on your computer

Yiu should be able to upload it then...

Nice drum (good eating size)... Here is one I put my buddy on last year..caught under the bridge in the background...

YAY !!! Thank you, John !

Using your version of the pic and re-sizing it worked, John.  Thank you so much for your help.  I have been fighting with my profile page all day.  I am better at fighting fish than I am at fighting computers.  Nice drum your friend caught, too.  There are a few bridges like that near me ... the closest one is over the Ochlockonee Rivier.  However, I do not have a boat and am not likely to ever be able to afford a boat so I am happy just fishing from the beach.  I was alone on the beach when I caught that one and quickly carried it up on the deck to get a photo.  I am trying to learn how to throw a cast net so that I can pull in some free bait.  Thanks again for your help with my profile pic. Cool

    Your Welcome...

Those drum are suckers for small crabs..., they love them. I imagine if you can get some sand fleas in the surf, they'd love them..along with any pompano in the area.

I actually don't target the drum but catch them as by catches fishing for pompano with jigs... We usually use a small yellow banana shaped weighted jig with a pink fly like teaser attached, fishing near the pilings...

The drum hang out at the pilings eating crustateons, small grabs, shrimp etc... They think the pink teaser is a shrimp I guess...

They actually get to be a pain after the first one or two on 10# braided line and small 3000 size reel, LOL...

But always fun to put someone on one that hasn't caught a 40 - 50# fish before on light tackle.

    sand fleas

John, can you explain why folks drive to Alligator Point to get sand fleas and then drive to St. George Island to fish for pompano with them?  I don't understand why there are so many sand fleas here on Alligator Point but no pompano...and why there are so many pompano on St. George Island but no sand fleas.  I occasionally fish with sand fleas since there are a lot of them here and they are free...but I have better luck using shrimp as bait. When the spanish mackerel are running, I have caught them on small live bait fish like LYs.  Most of the edible fish I catch using shrimp are whiting, redfish, trout, and drum.  Surf-casting instead of being out on a boat does limit what can be caught, but I really cannot complain. I just love being on the beach and fishing.  I have no skill when it comes to using jigs or any other artificial bait and admire someone like you who can attract fish with them.  The jigs and artificial lures probably also have the advantage of eliminating nuisance catches like hardhead catfish, stingrays, shark, crabs and sea turtles...all of which bite on shrimp.  I always dread hooking a sea turtle because I don't want to hurt them and also don't want them to hurt me when I am trying to remove a hook from their powerful jaws to set them free.  I would like to keep all my fingers.

    Sand Fleas..

Not sure, they're probably pompano where the sand fleas are...

I didn't realize you were up that way... We were just up in SGI not long ago.. We rent a place on the island usualy once a year Collins Vacation Rentals...

Actually I have some ex-inlaws from around the area..Apalch, East Point, Caravelle... Beautiful place, and awesome beaches...

I would think you should be able to get into some flounder also...

I've heard there is some good redfishing from shore or wading on the inside bay near the park.

    Here's where we stayed last time, just near the lighthouse;

    nice digs

That looks like one of the 'shotgun houses' on St. George Island...nice!  I have never caught a pompano using sand fleas on Alligator Point and have never seen anyone else catch one here either.  Yet there are lots of folks who park at mud cove on Alligator Point long enough to make some sweeps with their sand flea rakes and get back in their vehicles to drive all the way to St. George Island with the sand fleas to fish for pompano.  'Tis a mystery to me.  My fishing technique must be wrong for flounder.  I have been told that it requires either gig fishing after dark from a slow boat with a lantern for illumination or  casting weighted bait to the sandy bottom and dragging it slowly across the same area multiple times.  I guess I am not patient enough.  I do catch redfish fairly frequently.  Here is link to photo of a redfish I caught while surf-casting from the beach ...  http://www.flickr.com/photos/alligatorpointer/9048088278/in/set-72157634127702149
