PET scan was clear!

So all of my husbands blood results have gone back to normal, except we don't know about the CEA level. The pet scan showed no new evidence of disease, and the lesion in the liver did not light up. So as of right now he does not have any signs of cancer but I know that doesn't mean that lesion isn't cancer. The fact that is low attenuation in an area of focal fatty sparing is a good thing. So for now we watch it, repeat the CEA in 3 months, and possibly another ct as well. If it stays the same we breathe easier, if it grew we biopsy it.  I guess I will try to relax a bit about it for the next three months. I can't even tell you all how much this board has helped me  get through the past two weeks and be more knowledgable of what I was hearing. His oncologist is still a big jerk though ;)

    Ch Ch Ch Changes.

A new Oncologist I would say. This is a person you should be completely comfortable with, so changing sounds like a good idea.

Great news about the PET and blood work.  Enjoy the three months. Worrying about what might be is a huge waste of the precious time we have on this earth. (OK, there will be a few times you can give into a little worry, its human nature).

Keep up the good work both of you.

    oncologist

I too had an oncologist that was a big jerk!! Only I fired him.  Went to my surgeon with a few names of oncologists, and she gave me a referral to one of them. Had the new one for over 3 years and still love her.  Currently only see her every 6 months, since I am NED.  Consider getting one you can have faith in!  Good luck.

    Thanks everyone!!

Since he does not bother my husband who is very easy going I have not pushed too hard to get rid of him. My husband likes the convienience  of where he is. Since he is the one with cancer not me I can put up with him on a very limited basis. If I ever get sick I know who not to go to!! I don't understand how he stands him at all!
