from romania, where nobody explains and let you die like an animal

Hello. My mother received some papers of her first biopsy and was sent to a surgeon to perform hesteroctomy.nobody there explained to me if the cancer is advanced ,nobody talked to me.in this country doctors are paid by the government but each patient must put money in the pocket of the doctors to do their job .so i really need you to translate for me the diagnoze from the patologic first report and excuse my english.i will try to translate it properly and if you kknow anything about that please tell me.i looked on the internet and found various versions of her tests.i dont know what to think.so..there it is

from the cervical report and biopsy:EXTENDED AREAS OF IMATURE SCUAMOUS METAPLASIA OF THE ENDOCERVICAL GLANDS.AREAS OF UNDIFFERENTCIATED CARCINOMA AND SMALL AREAS OF ADENOCARCINOMA.

from the uterus report and biopsy : ENDOMETRIOID ADENOCARCINOMA WITH AREAS OF PAPILLARY CARCINOMA. THE POINT OF START OR BEGINNING OF THIS CANNOT BE ESTABLISHED BECAUSE OF THE EXTENDED TUMORAL MASS.

this was her first biopsy.during surgery i was told another biopsy was done and i have to wait the results. but menwhile, the doctor just visited her and didnt talk to us ,explain us.this is horrible.my sister studies in London.I need to know if this is very bad..so that i can move there and provide my mother a high quality treatment..because this country kills us.

i feel it is bad..isnt it?

    Pathology Report

    Dear Oanaleogan,

You sound very scared. You did a very good job translating the report and your mother's cancer is aggressive. This type of cancer spreads quickly. It also sounds like she had a complicated tumor. Seek the best treatment for your mom. She will probably need both radiation and chemotherapy. If it is determined that her cancer has spread too much she will be given just treatment to keep her comfortable and to slow tumor growth. Should you be able to seek treatment in another country then now you should try to do it. Best wishes.

    Hello oanaleogan

Sorry about your mom's condition. It sounds serious. Once you get the second pathology report ask your doctor for explanation that you will understand. Ask about her cancer primary (cervical or uterine), stage and grade; ask if debulking during hysterectomy was optimal (did they remove all tumor or not), ask about treatment options (chemo? radiation? drug trials?) and prognosis. Did they do full body CT scan to confirm that cancer has not metastasized in remote locations? Don't leave till you are satisfied.

If the doctor refuses to talk to you, seek second opinion from gyno-oncologist, not just any gynecologist or surgeon. If some cash in his lab coat pocket is what it takes to get attention - just do it.

Being diagnosed with advanced cancer is bad in any country, not just in Romania. Do whatever you can afford to get your mom the best care. She is lucky to have such a caring daughter.

    Best wishes to your family.
