    Wales...Whales???

I was at the bar the other night with a friend having some beers. We had been there a while when two rather large ladies came up to the bar and ordered drinks. I noticed when they ordered they both had strong accents so I said ‘Hi, are you two gals from Scotland?’ One of them spoke up, with quite an attitude and said ‘it’s WALES you idiot!!!’

So I immediately said ‘Sorry, are you two Whales from Scotland?’

The doc says I should be able to see fine again in a few days after the swelling goes down.

    A whale of a joke

Ha ha ha!  Good one Gary!!  Was it swelling of the eyes though? Only the Welsh tend to be very short!

    Vaguely Reminiscent of this one!

A man walks into an emergency room with two black eyes and a
five iron wrapped tightly around his throat. Naturally the
    doctor asks him what happened.

"Well, it was like this," said the man. "I was having a quiet
round of golf with my wife when she sliced her ball into a
pasture of cows. We went to look for it and while I was rooting
around I noticed one of the cows had something white at its rear
end. I walked over and lifted up the tail and sure enough, there
was my wife's golf ball. . . stuck right in the middle of the
cow's butt. That's when I made my mistake."

"What did you do?" Asks the doctor.

"Well, I lifted the tail and yelled to my wife, 'This one here
    looks like yours!'"

Funny you should say that, a fella we met in the local was from the west coast. He had some beautiful pictures on his phone of various places. He recommended quite a few, I have them written down somewhere. We were visiting family the last time but we would like to see more of Ireland when we get the chance.

I like your photo, where was it taken?

    NYC

    Hi Eims,

I bet you had a great time, they really push the boat out on St Patricks Day. My daughter has been working in NY for the past couple of years now,she prefers it to London. We all stayed there for a week before we sailed back to the UK, we really enjoyed ourselves.

It is nice to here of

It is nice to here of everyone's plans for holidays. As soon as I get my treatment, surgery etc sorted out would love to plan a short break, not sure where yet but would love to head to Europe to see a few more places that I have always wanted to see, Italy high on the list as is another trip to France. Visited Paris with my husband and daughter before he started treatment for his illness, but didn't get to see anymore of France.  As it is such a long trip from Australia probably not an option at this time :-( . Maybe back to Bali. Anyway something to look forward to!!!

    Holidays

    Hi Sue,

When is your operation scheduled? I hope you are not having to wait too long. Planning a holiday will do you good, it will give you something to focus on. I would love to go to Bali, I have seen lots of photos of it, two of my friends went there on there honeymoon. It looks beautiful and all that wonderful sunshine. I know with you living in Australia that probably isn't a bonus, but we are getting foot rot over here. It has been rain and wind and then wind and rain, I am beginning to despair of summer ever arriving at all this year. So Bali sounds like a plan to me!

I see thyroid surgeon in June

I see thyroid surgeon in June 4 to schedule surgery. Until then still don't know what my treatment will be particularly, for the spine met. Further scan to be done. the weather here in Sydney is horrible today, it has rained for about 24 hours and getting quite cold as we head to winter.

Yes  I bet many here would love the IOM. But only in the summer. A pal just told me about a new pub to check out. There were 4 of us from the U.S. The rest are mostly from the UK. FYI I just had a date with the Vampire. Now waiting to see my Oncologist. Best part is taking or flirting with young Sara..!

    We have had some fabulous

We have had some fabulous weather here since the end of summer, very warm and sunny days. We really need the rain so will suck it up and enjoy it for the next few days and then hopefully back to some nicer weather. Hopefully all you people in the northern hemisphere get to have some better weather soon.
