Torisel for Chromophobe RCC

After bone mets were found and confirmed in a CT/MRI/Bone Scan progression - my oncologist is suggesting Torisel.

I am moving forward while still investigating other paths...

Has anyone had experience with this drug?

There is no plan to add either Xgeva or Zometa to your regime?

Not at this point - the bone mets aren't causing me much pain. I will continue to pursue other treatment options...

    Not a good answer

You don't just take either of these agents for pain.  You take them because they help fight existing bone mets - and prevent new ones from taking hold.

I don't know about using Torisel - but I do know about Sutent and other TKI's.  There is ample evidence that both Xgeva or Zometa will work syngergistically with them.  That is to say, Sutent is pretty worthless against bone mets when it is used alone.  But when you add Xgeva or Zometa to the mix you can get dramatic results.  I know that I am.

I would highly suggest you get a second opinion about this. I see my regular oncologist once a month.  But I also see a bone cancer specialist every 6 months - or whenever I undergo a full body nuclear bone scan.
