How's Larry?

We met with doctor yesterday and dad's incisions healed, so they removed the staples. The couphing has improved, but he is having severe back pain. The doctor said it's normal from surgery so they gave us Tramadol yesterday for the pain, it's helped a little. Does Larry's back hurt?

    hello

Larry is coming along. Still very little fluid intake, but he is trying. I am glad your Dad is doing well. Larry does have some back pain, however his main complaint is abdominal cramps. Sometimes severe. He sees the oncologist on Monday and Surgeon on Thurday. I can't believe it has already been almost a month! How is your Dad with eating? Dumping? Larry is having greater difficulty swallowing as time goes on so we are thinking he will probably need to be dialated. We will see.

    Haven't had any difficulty

Haven't had any difficulty swallowing yet, I hope that doesn't start to happen.  He's not eating much food by mouth, he had 2 scrambled eggs yesterday, the 1st thing he's ate in 3 days.  The doctor was stern about the tube feedings when we saw him Wed., so we haven't heard any lip from Dad about those.  He was only allowed liquids, upgraded to soft food, but anything he does eat hasn't been causing any dumping.  I just think he isn't eating enough by mouth to have that be a problem yet.  His back pain is really keeping him down, the colace helped with the abdomen cramping.  I hope Larry's little steps get bigger and bigger. I'm so glad we're friends, it's so nice to be able to talk with someone who know's exactly what I'm going through and the patient :)
