    Are you feeling better, Pepe?
Are you feeling better, Pepe? Last few weeks you've mentioned unpleasant side effects from chemo.

    Sitting in hospital

I'm spending my weekend in the hospital. Came in the ER this morning in so much pain because I couldn't pee. I had to be catherized which you all know hurts so bad. They got 1800 cc of urine the first round. Boy did that feel good. I also just finished getting two units of blood. Hemo was down to five. Waiting to see if need more so I better sleep some while waiting got labs to come back. Can't get much rest.  Jeff

    Well...it is actually Sunday

Well...it is actually Sunday here now... here is my weekend...

I am so tired. We just got back for a weekend trip to New York City with my DD's Girl Scout Troop. We took one of those charter busses from Washington DC up to New York City with DD's troop. It took almost 7 hours with the traffic. We stayed at the Sheraton in Times Square...beautiful hotel...and we got a 1/2 price rate! We had pizza Fri night and then walked around Times Square a bit. Saturday we took one of those open double decker buses... The girls got to see everything. We got off in Chinatown, had Chinese pastries then walked to Little Italy. we had a fabulous lunch...my DD and I split a huge Mussels appetizer and linguini and clams...she is 10...and all the other moms were amazed at DD's palate ...she will eat anything. Then we walked to the Brooklyn Bridge and then to Ground Zero.

We had a fabulous time on the bus tour...we took the bus the rest of the way back to Times Square. After dinner we took the girls to Ripley's...they had a lot of fun. Some moms took their daughters on the Staten Island ferry...I opted to not do that...it was too cold for me and they didn't get to eat dinner until after 11pm. Today we had brunch at American Girl. I was so proud of my DD...she only wanted 2 books. She has a couple of the dolls that her grandparents gave her. Only she and one other girl left there without spending well over $100 on clothiers and accessories for their dolls. The brunch was nice...they got to borrow a doll for the meal and we even sang happy birthday to my DD whose Bday is this week.

I think my favorite part of this weekend was the bus ride up and back...my dd sat with me. She wanted to sit by me. It was so nice spending several hours just talking. While some of the other girls were wild and loud on the bus...standing in the aisle, bumping into other adults, and carrying on...my DD was being so respectful of others. While in the city, every time we walked anywhere she wanted to hold my hand. I will always remember how sweet she was this weekend. I have been sick this past year..and I feel like that has distanced me from my kids. They have gotten used to mom not being able to do as much.

We had a great time and the girls earned it. They saved up cookie money and did fundraising for the last 5 years to pay for the trip. The girls learned a lot and all of them got to experience New York City for the first time.

    Husband's 50th birthday Saturday,

so we had a nice dinner out with our kids and a couple of spares (boyfriends), and then an extended family dinner today. My husband complains a bit about getting older, but he knows better than to complain too much around me!  AA

    We planted our garden this

We planted our garden this weekend.  A bunch of Iris flowers, and many vegtables.   I put in a sprinkler system, and soaker hoses. A lot of fun work!

This morning we had two Elk in our backyard having a young salad mix.  lol Our dogs were going crazy and we had to let them outside at 4am (ugh).  I went with them with a flashlight.  All we saw was plant carnage. This morning two sets of hoof prints. We marveled at the prints while we had our first cup of tea. We will pplant again on Wednesday or Thursday. We think it so neat that we have great wild creatures sharing our neighborhood with us.   We can always go to the store for fresh food.

    Best Always,   mike

    That's a great story, Mike!

I like how you chose to look at it as "sharing".  When the deer would go after my dad's vegetables, he used to get out the shotgun.  I like your approach better!

    Attended my brother's wedding

He and his lovely bride are both in their late 60s.  My brother has been single for the past 25 years.  He's a stage IV 10 year lung cancer survivor.  Our family is thrilled for his new found happiness.  It was a great weekend!

This posts is the weekend that never ends :)

I look forward to everyone's weekend posts and imagine all these folks that I care about, but don't know, but feel that I do know ... going about their lives, sharing the good and the challenging aspects of their lives.  Best to all. -- Cynthia
