Anaplastic Astrocytoma Grade 3 - Survivor since 1997

I'm a survivor of an AA3 located in the right cerebellar hemisphere. The tumor was resected prior to radiation and chemo treatments. I have had no recurrence since the tumor was resected.  ( 95% + of the right cerebellar hemisphere was removed)

 

I am now wondering, after so many yrs, what kind of long term side effects I may experience from the treatments? Anyone else out there with similiar story? (Chemo was vincristine and CCNU)

 

Currently, I do not have any side effects from the treatements/surgery listed above.

 I realize that I am extremely fortunate and I'm thankful for the wonderful life I have been given. If anyone needs to talk... I am always around.

 

About me; I am currently 29 y/o, avid offshore fisherman, businessman (self employed - run a large real estate sales/developement business), Married with 1 girl (4 y/o)

    Hey jake, I tried reaching out to you on FB... I too was diagnosed with AA3, complete resection, radiation, and chemo (temodar).  My drs. Say they see a normal lifespan ahead of me and do not believe I should experience any long term affects.  My oncologist tells me more and more people with AA3 are surviving long term with no effects... I just wondering what your original prognosis was back then, because im sure the statistics were allot worse 15 years ago.
