Please help

Hi there,

I'm new here and don't necessarily like being associated with anything relating to cancer but I had an 8 kg Germ cell tumour removed from my left ovary in October 2012 and during my 2nd cycle of chemotherapy (in which I never thought I'd get) I had a nervous breakdown. This has left me with severe depression and anxiety all the time.

I'm always very indecisive and my relationships with my family and my fiance' are very difficult at the moment.

I have difficulty doing the things I used to be so natural at doing and my parents hate my fiance' and soon want me to choose between them and my fiance'

My psychologist says things will get better but I don't think I'm in the right mind to start thinking about moving out again and the responsibility of managing a house.

What should I do and does things get better?

Thank you

    So sorry about your whole

So sorry about your whole situation!  Cancer and all it intells is enough of a stresser without family issues.  Just my opinion...your focus should be on YOU not anyone else.  Do not make any decisions now.  It's unfair that your family would even put you in this mess now.  Is there a good friend or impartial family member you could stay with, at least til your treatments are over?  You need to be away from all stress. You need peace and quite.  I assume you are on depression meds?  If not, get some.  I sincerely hope you will not allow yourself to be put in the middle.  You will not heal if you are under stress all the time.  Let us know if we help...nothing is out of bounds, rant all you want!  Some one else will be here to talk to you later.  Best, Debrajo

    Hi there,

Yes I'm on Efexor the anti depressant but things seem like such a struggle everyday

I do have a few friends but at the moment I can barely looking after myself without burdening someone else.

I still can't make big or hard decisons, will this go away?

    My appetite isn't great still

It's almost been2 months since my last chemo treatment

How long does this **** last?

    Stress

It could be gone tomorrow...or it can last for a long time.  I think you may need to talk to the dr. about something else for the depression. The chemo drugs are only a part of what you are going through.  I still have times of extreme brain fog and I am out of chemo 32 months!  It's called our new "normal".  I don't think you can blame all problems on the drugs.  Your depression is not being controled.  Call your dr!  Also, don't think your friends think of you as a burden.  Go somewhere if only for a weekend to destress.  Don't tell anyone where you are going unless you want to, turn off the phone/text.  You need to rest and get back in control and tell everyone to take a flying leap!  The more you destress the more the chemo drugs begin to ease up..at least thats the way it was for me.  Please, call the dr!  Bestt, debrajo

P.S.  My dr. told me stress not only can cause cancer, but it also FEEDS cancer!
