So sorry you are going through this.  I cannot address the 1b uterine cancer, but I was 1c ovarian in 2000 with a recurrance in 2006.  I had carboplatin and taxol both times, with a switch to taxotere on my second treatment during the recurrance.  Somehow I developed an allergy to the taxol.  However, all went well, and here I am 13 years later!  Seeing my hair falling out the first time was expected but nonetheless hard to see at first.  So, when I was diagnosed with the recurrance I went ahead and had my hair dresser shave it down really, really short.  That way I didn't have to see clumps of hair on my pillow.  That was a much easier transition.

Welcome!  You've come to the right place for support and information.  I was diagnosed with stage 2b ovarian cancer in September 2010, had surgery in October 2010 and then six treatments of chemo (carboplatin and taxol) every three weeks between December 2010 and March 2011.  My CA 125 was over 2,800 prior to surgery and then dropped down to 7 after surgery and before chemo.  I've been NED (no evidence of disease) ever since.  I think I started to lose my hair around the time of my second chemo treatment.  I noticed lots of it laying on my pillow in the morning and when I washed my hair and then combed it, lots came out in clumps.  Prior to starting chemo, I bought an electric razor made for heads and I had my husband shave off the few stragglers.  I know how traumatic the loss of hair is to some women.  I myself didn't have a problem with it.  I liked not having to wash and style my hair and not having to shave my legs and armpits.  I definitely saved on shampoo!
