    Mary Ann update

Mary Ann had a good day, upbeat mood, sodium level is up. Hospitalist had written an
order yesterday afternoon for Mary Ann to start taking salt tablets. The kidney doctor
showed up three hours later, telling Mary Ann that she did not need salt tablets,
writing an order instead for potato chips. I'm serious. Of course, this is an item not
stocked by the pharmacy, and the cafeteria (which was closed anyway) doesn't carry
chips. So an enterprising nurse entered the inner sanctum of the doctor's lounge and
stole away with two bags of vinegar and salt chips. Strange but true. They are
continuing to drain fluid. Mary Ann had a kidney ultrasound late today, not sure
what that is all about. I emailed her oncologist last night and asked for a call, and he
contacted Mary Ann this morning. He said he would talk to her about possible
treatment after she gets home. She's still not out of the woods, but doing much better.

Thank you for letting us know!!!

So very glad to hear about her improving.  Loved the news about the chips!!! Praying for both of you.  I know that she is in good hands both with you and God watching out for her.

Prayers and Positive Thoughts for Mary Ann

I don't check in very often but was so glad to hear Mary Ann is doing better.  That must have been frightening.  We were diagnosed about the same time with the same stage.  She has helped me so much through my journey.  I want her to know she is very much in my prayers and thoughts.  Thank you Ro for keeping us informed.  You all are in my prayers.

    Wonderful Husbands = Recovery

I think as we have all found here the more support we have during our illness the more likely we are to recover! How fortunate Mary Ann is to have such a great guy!

    Mary Ann

Not much new to report. She remains at Health Park Hospital, continues to have fluid drained from two chest tubes. Mary Ann has developed an irregular heart beat, which is being medicated and monitored. They took chest X-ray today which showed a few pockets of fluid. Mary Ann is in good spirts, appreciates the support of board members.

Sorry to hear about her irregular heart beat.  Hope the medicine takes care of it. Glad she remains in good spirits.  She remains in my thoughts and prayers.   Hope she is getting rest at night.  I know all of the interruptions at night.   Hope you are getting rest, too.

Hope Mary Ann had a good day.  She truly feels like family and it's hard to be far away when family members are ill.One feels so helpless.  Wish I could drop off a pot of soup or something.

I tried the last two days to call Mary Ann

I have just gotten her voicemail.  I hope everything is okay.  I was hoping Rudy would have posted something.  I will try her cell phone again today.  I'll certainly let her I know that the prayers for her continue.

    Hoping

for news soon and holding Mary Ann close in my thoughts and in my heart..

I talked with Mary Ann this afternoon

Mary Ann called me today.  She is hanging in there, but tired of being in the hospital.  She has been there two weeks now.  She still has both chest tubes.  They talked about taking out the right chest tube today, but it was still draining too much.  She is having leakage from around the chest tubes.  She still has pain with movement.  They stopped her PCA pain pump, so she needs to wait forthe nurses to bring her pain meds now.  She has been walking some.

Someone from onocology did visit her, but no plan has been set up yet.   Her cardio thoracic surgeon called them to visit her.

She can still use our prayers for a quick recovery.
