Using DHEA to boost immune function

I got results for my DHEA, I was advised to start supplementing, I did lots of research see the blog for details

if your interested in boosting your immne system this could be an area of research and testing.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9008662   this is the basic possible science

I have started DHEA supplementation.

http://petertrayhurn.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/my-mother-wifes-hoarding-hopeful-bilbo.html

my blog today has lots of good dhea links that are parts of the puzzle, its all very interesting.

I was advised to do this by the naturopath who is apart of the dendritic cell lab in duderstadt. it was my idea to do the tests, I found my weakness and now I am fixing it.

don't ask how many supplements i am taking each day, sublingual seems to be the way to go as it stops the load on the liver. lots of contra indictations. you have been warned, do you own hoemwork and find a reallly good naturopath and or doctor and get tested and retrested.

hugs,

Pete

PS they say it boosts sexual enjoyment and function and helps fight cancer. sonds pretty good to me.

    Amazing (?)

    Amazing (?)

"DHEA can cause higher than normal levels of androgens and
estrogens in the body, and theoretically may increase the risk of
prostate, breast, ovarian, and other hormone-sensitive cancers."

    From: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/dhea/NS_patient-dhea

(oh yeah, I wanna' take this!)

    Better health to all.

    thanks john

i read the mayo and about 10 other good sites, i am aware of the risk of  potential future cancer versus the current short prospect of death. its a no brainer for me, but i have expert advice baced up by my research.

i still would encourage everyone to read, read read with an open wallet and mind.

if dhea is the switch disabling your immune system, then turn it on., you might surprise yourself and get your wbc up and then cea dow.

thanks for the teply and kind wishes. most howevet have colorectal.

also, as long as you don't have prostate problems.......

i had taken DHEA ( and creatine) for i can't remember how many years; stopped both about two years ago, as per urologist.....There are benefits to both beyond those associated with weightlifting...

    Check

MGN-3 biobran if you haven't already, also AHCC, and Alpha-galcer + DC vaccines.

alas i have enlarged prostate, but still a low level of dhea 25mg daily is the going in dose, again i will sort out the colorectal cancer first and then worry about prostate. some colateral damage from all these supplements has to happen. i never even read about dhea and muscles, but of course now you mention it, it sounds logical. i will research this one day. maybe my low dhea is a reason for the lack of muscle growth with my weight training.

sure you're not using the same muscle(s) day after day.....Also,watch too much protein intake as it may impact mTOR (Dr Mercola mentioned this-mercola.com ......)

    "Up"

What are you "up" to across so many threads???

    FYI

While you may not see this response, since you are from the Kidney board, I will answer.

Our dear friend was trying to move the more recent threads to the top of the list after that spammer came in and got those old posts to the top.  She was helping until CSN tech folks could remove the offending posts.

    So....UP...has a purpose.

By the way, thanks Cyn for taking the time to do that.

    FYI

Thanks for the explanation, Marie - it makes sense and I've often done the same, albeit it in another fashion and in different circumstances.

Thanks too to CSN for sorting it out outside normal working hours!

so no othet good dhea experience here, maybr in a few weeks or months.

the opportunity was been raised, based on my doctord advicr i have on 25mg dailu morning.

i not be surprisef if most colorectals dhea is low per lef discussion. when i put togethet my book, it will be in it.

so far i feel great, its really sad the only comments here are not positive, this is the reality  of most of my friends advice and experience and our communities collective wisdom on dhea.

as i was educated by my world class dendritic cell vaccine lab, i will take their advice in preference to john warning.

i have huge hope for myself, and faith in my alternative doctors. imagine if my advice is correct, the next day 1000 of colorectals  are being suoplemented and tested dhea. maybe our survival stats would be better. its a great dream, alas i am the only one dreaming this dream. dont wait for the magic bullet, lots of little bullets are already here. put them together and we will see.

that faith and hope extends to all colorectals. my heart has been warmed to have a few other colorectals trying a few thing on the side like me, the clock is ticking friends i am trying to use my time productivily.

consider your dhea level if you care about your immune system.

    Check this Pete

"The results of this preliminary study, carried out to evaluate the influence of arabinoxylan on T reg cells, which represent the most important cells involved in the suppression of the antitumor cytotoxic immune response, demonstrates that arabinoxylan may counteract T reg cell generation by reducing their number and percentage with respect to the total amounts of CD4+ cells and circulating lymphocytes."
