    End of Journey

I didn't know your mother but have been reading her story for a few years.  A valiant warrior in a disease that has no mercy.

Wishing you and your family the best as you struggle helping your mother find the peace she earned.  May Kari's journey into the good night be a short one.

    Best,

    Thank You for the Update

    KarLee,

Your Mom has been a great inspiration to us all.  I personally do believe you are doing the right thing being her advocate.  It is exactly why she called on you to do it.  You are doing a fantastic thing for her by honoring her wishes.  I can only hope I have someone like you with me at the end.  I pray for her everynight and am sorry she has lost her communication ability with you, that must be hard.  It doesn't surprise me she did all those excursions, it is often called the surge.  Miles of love to both of you.

    ((hugs))

    Terry

Karlee .. as you can see, your mom has a

special place in each and every heart here on our 'support site'.  I love her to pieces --- My name is Vicki Sam.  Both Mom, and I started on this journey

somewhat the same time.  She has always lived life with her 'boots on' , doing it her WAY!

Kari is so so proud of YOU, and your Brother.  Remember Cancun,  I do.  She beamed with joy when she watched you graduated Nursing School,  she

cried with happiness with you married, and worried when she ask you to help her on this last part of her journey.

I believe when Kari is looking out at you, she is recalling all the happiness, and joy both you, your brother and Husband have brought to her.

I will never forget a shirt Kari has .. F$$$ Cancer -- she sported it while on vacation, wearing her cowboy hat! --- That's our Kari!

Miles of love, hope and strength for you dear, KarLee.

May our Lord grant courage, and serenity for all.

    Vicki Sam

We have traveled your Mom's journey with her and we will be with her until she is finished with it. Tell her we love her and we are right there with her. We are also here for you honey. So anytime now or later, we will be here. Love and Hugs for both.

    Overwhelmed

Hello everyone. Sitting next to Mom in hospice and reading all of these comments sends overwhelming joy to me knowing that you were all such good support for her. I knew how much she cared for you guys but I did not understand the extent at which you all supported her and looked up to her. It truly is a blessing.

Thanks for all of the kind words and thoughts and prayers. Mom is doing well today, very restful, I think we have finally cought up on her medication so that she can relax. Her vital signs this morning are normal, she is just on a little oxygen for comfort, but she seems to be holding on to something. Her eyes are open quite a lot. Not sure what it is she is looking for.

    Thanks Again,

    KarLee

Haven't been on for a while, but KarLee,

I wanted to also add how special your mom is to me.  She has been on my nightly prayer list for a very long time and continues to be an inspiration to me as well as all of us here.  Please give her our love and hugs--and also sending you some too.  You are a blessing, sweetheart.

    PinkKari09 Update 1/7/12

    KarLee posting an update:

Mom is approaching the end of her second week since she was admitted to hospice. She is still nonverbal and has not ate or drank since admission. It is so difficult to see someone go through the amount of suffering that she has been through in the last weeks. I have always said that there is a reason for everything, but this is making it very hard to understand why anyone would possibly be dealt the cards that Mom has been dealt.

I hate to sound negative, but it is very difficult to understand why.

Despite this, i do still count the blessings that have come out of this experience. I look back at all the things that Mom was able to do because of the life sustaining treatments that she was gifted. In the last year and a half she traveled to Texas, Arizona, Cancun, and Denver with her closest family and friends. She got to go on a river fishing trip, see her Son graduate and her Daughter get married. She had two more holiday seasons and thanksgivings, two more birthdays and countless conversations and opportunities to spend time with those who are closest to her.

Thinking about the positives helps. Makes things bearable. Makes me understand that there are prices to pay for everything in life. Mom got to have all those experiences, and now is paying the price. Still doesn't seem fair, but sometimes you can't make sense of everything.

That's all for now. Sorry it took awhile to get an update posted. Sometimes it's hard to find the right words and I hate posting bad news for all you amazing fighters who are in the midst of all different stages of your battle. Just know that for every sad story, there is a happy story. Keep fighting and now that you are always on my mind and in my heart.

    Me too, Lex

I don't know how Clementine converted it, but I'm thankful.  It is hard to even get on this site.  Very frustrating.  When I finally did and saw symbols, I had no clue how to correct it.  Not that computer savvy.  So, if you see this Clementine, give us a lesson!  Thanks so much for your help.  Lex and I appreciate it:)
