Power Port Removal

I haven't been on the board for some time now and thought I would check in. I just got the results yesterday from my 4th CT scan of this past year and I'm told everything looks good. As far as I know, there is no sign of cancer in my body right now and that is a blessing. And so, I am going in tomorrow morning to have my power port removed, it has been with me for the past year and a half and it feels like I can really put some distance between me and the cancer by having it taken out. God has been so good and I'm truly thankful. I know a lot of you continue to struggle with and fight this cancer and my heart goes out to you, you are in my prayers! Thank you all for sharing so honestly what you are going through, it has been an eye opener and an encouragement to me.

    Congratulations Sara!
The port has done its job and good riddance to it. Stay strong, positive and cancer-free!

    Hi Sara
Thank you for checking in and I'm so glad you are doing well. I too am planning to have my power port removed next month. I've been NED (no evidence of disease) for over two years and I finally feel okay with the idea of removing it. I think I was kind of holding on to it like a security blanket, but now I'm ready to be free of it. I feel very lucky to be in this position.

    Wishing you the best!
