Ca 125 rising

Just got ca 125 results; I has risen to 49 from 20. Had ct scan only showed a couple peri-aortic lymph nodes swollen slightly. I don't know what else could be causing this other than a recurrence. Any thoughts?

Hi, I know what you are
Hi, I know what you are going through mine just went from 9 to 18 and Dr. may want a CT scan. I have been in remission for 1 and a half years and dread going back into treatment. Did you mean 49 to 200 ??? I have is not a reacurrance for you . Did you take any new medication or have a cold or infection all those things could make it go up. Hugs and prayers

All my Dr 's have said any inflammation can cause a rise in the marker. This is one of the reasons the CA 125 isnt a good screening test for ovc. Your lymph nodes can enlarge if they are fighting an infection. My Dr has always said the CT scan trumps the marker. My marker was at 1700 last week and was at 1422 today. I was told this swing was due to the back surgery I had a couple weeks ago. The trama raised my marker ....I took a week off chemo and it went down this week because my back is healing. Resumed chemo today. We will see if it helps the marker to go down. Hope this helps. I know how scary it is when the marker goes up and puts you out of "normal" range but it could be nothing. Hope so!! When will they test you again? Please keep us posted. Sending positive thoughts , love and light. Michele

Thanks for your replays. I did mean my ca125 rose from 20 to 49. I've only been in remission for 5 months. I see dr today. Don't have any infections per ct scan. Don't know of any other sickness going on....colds,etc. Thanks for sending positive thoughts!!

My doctor usually starts treatment if my ca125 doubles. I am glad she is agressive but am glad the chemo knocks down tyhe number fairly quickly

Please let us know what your DR thinks. I am sure they plan on keeping a close eye on you. I just ran into a women I met during chemo and her ca 125 went from 400+ to 1800. Her Dr said he didn't believe it since she had no symptoms that something was going on...so he re ran the test today stat. He said there can be errors at the lab even with small increases so he likes to verify the results. Hopefully you are still in remission!!!!
    Positive thoughts and energy always!!!!!
