Getting my life back

Hi, I'm Sandy, I am a cancer survivor for 2 years now. I am having trouble piecing my life back together. I need to find a job, but I have pain in my back that limits what I can do. I am very stressed right now.

Is there anyone else going through this?

I'm so happy that you have
I'm so happy that you have been a survivor for two years, I'm only a one year survivor from diagnosis and 4 months from all treatment. I am, however, sorry that you have back pain. Is this from treatment or did you have it beforehand? Cancer certainly has a way to change our lives for good.

I'm lucky enough to have a job that is mentally exhausting but not physically. I am struggling with my memory and just staying organized right now. I'm hoping my "chemo brain" will subside soon. I am also having a hard time getting my life back. It was never really determined if I was stage 2b or 3c, so I am always wondering about recerrence, it rearely leaves my mind. Surgery said 2b but a pet scan showed uptake in 2 lymph nodes. So, I try to stay positive and tell myself it wasn't in the nodes. I did chemo and radiation so I can have a life.

Are there other stressors that are bothering you, as if pain and unemployement aren't enough! At any rate, we are glad you are here and hope we can be of some support to you even if we aren't having the same experiences.

    Wishing you the best,
    Rachelle

    Yes.
My mom died 18 months before I found out I had cancer, then my dad died just two months ago.

Then pain is from the treatment. Not sure how to deal with it.
