Crazy things happening

Crazy things happening here. I had my last chemo treatment July, 28 this year. Now I am experiencing acid reflux. Never had it before. Doctor is not sure if it is caused by the chemo or not. Any one have any experience with this. What helped? Have noticed a couple of other ladies from Maine on this board. I do not know what I would do without you ladies to sound off to. Thanks

    Hi,
    I have had bad acid

    Hi,
I have had bad acid reflux. Prilosec worked well for me as does sleeping on a small wedge to raise my head at night. You don't want reflux it can cause irratarion you don't need. Other than that it sounds like your in remission. That is awesome! Michele

    Acid reflux
My acid reflux was very bad during my second round of chemo. My doctor prescribed a drug called Lanzoprazole (in the UK) and is brilliant. I take all the time now to prevent it happening.

    Hi Vanessamood,

I joined this discussion group a short while ago and this is my first posting. I live in the UK and have Ovarian MMMT (ie super nasty cancer) advanced. Anyway my posting has nothing to do with OVCA. I just wanted to mention that I went to to New England for a holiday a few years ago and stayed in Rockport for a few days. I stayed at this B&B called The Tuck Inn which served the most amazing breakfasts. The house had a permanent lingering smell of cakes and ginger and sugar etc etc. it's was absolutely lovely. And Rockport was charming and relaxing and welcoming. I wish I was there now! You're a lucky lady.

Hi, I'm from Maine too. I agree, we are very lucky to live here. I live about one hour south of Rockport. It is another hour to go south to Portland. My gynocologist is at the same place Vanessa goes, I believe. I know that they are great there but how do you stand the two hour drive? Maybe you could get your treatments up here at MCCM in Brunswick? We have some patients here that have their primary oncologists in Boston but they get their chemo here. I am only a volunteer so I am not quite sure how that works. It might be worth it to ask your doctor so you can cut down on your driving time? Kelly

I have already gone through my six treatments and only have to go once every three months to Scarborough to see Dr. LaChance. Ny family and primary doctor decided that I should go to Portland and not here in Rockland which I am glad that I did.My doctor wanted me to have chemo in Scarborough so I could could check in with him with questions before hand. Worked out well. Most cancer patients from here either go to Portland or Boston. Glad we went spring, summer so we did not have to worry about driving in the snow. I have a son that lives in Harpswell.
