The Magic Mouthwash as the salt/baking soda isn't helping with the soreness. I hear good things about it from others here on the forum.

    Magic Mouthwash
Is a very short term numbing swish and spit...

It gives you enough time to take some meds, take in calories, water, etc......

Several time each day I used a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda in about a quarter glass of water for my rinses...

My dentist prescribed a flouride toothpaste from Cypress Pharmaceauticals last Monday, knowing I would begin radiation the following Monday (22nd) and told me to brush at night before bed. He also specifically told me not to rinse if I could help it. He saidi should begin using it ASAP.

    Good luck!

I got my lip sores week one and had them the duration of tx. I never got any sores inside of my mouth but did have numerous bouts of thrush. With the thrush my tongue burned and kind of felt like a strip of velcroe. You don't need to wait for next appt. with Dr Guy, you should be able to tell Scott or one of the girls that you would like to see Kevin, the nurse, about getting some swish and swallow while you are there. Then just tell Kevin you would like some swish and swallow to keep on hand. With my ins. it was $20-$25 at the pharmacy right there in the same building.
