Recent catscan showed abnormal cells in the lung and possible bone involvement. Report also stated, primary cancer site unknown. We had assumed Prostate was primary, I guess we will know more on Thursday. Praying hard.

    Lungs
Make sure they eli inate everything else before it circles back to prostate cancer. They have 3 ways to do a lung biopsy. Through the nose, VATS, or a real biopsy. Mine ended up with a biopsy. They cut my back to get a nodule. Prostate cancer. Was the result. Scary at first, but learned not to panic. Ended up having radiosurgery. Nodules disappeared for now. Hopefully they will stay away.

Are you a vet? I so you should do research about AO. If not, why if you have prostate cancer would they be wondering? Sounds confusing to me. Do you have other maladies?

    Primary cancer
Thank you for your posts Vas & Mike
I am writing about my husband and no although he is a vet, he was never exposed to agent orange.
We are very confused and concerned as to why there seems to be a question as to the primary cancer source, since
He has been diagnosed with Gleason 9 prostate since Jan 2012.
He had a cats scan of his lungs because he has a persistent cough and
Sore throat. Prelimaryfindings are not good, but I'm praying. Will post when we know more.
Thanks for your comments and best of luck to you

What type of doctor do you have? Is this a local hospital or upscale? They normally do a biopsy to determine the source. They need to know what they are treating. Even though I quit smoking in 1985 my urologist, and lung surgeon said it was probably lung cancer. Different treatments for the diff. Types of cancer. I guess. I have no idea.

Make sure that you both trust this doctor. He should be an Oncologist, or radiologist oncologist. If you have a urologist get away from him. Only thing he will say is let's operate.

    Good luck,

    Mike

You might want to see where your husband was stationed. They stored that stuff everywhere. They even give it to certain naval seamen who served off the coast of Viet Nam. Not sure which war he was in.

Pretty good. Learned to not go looking for sites to tell me what is going to happen. Use to scare myself to death. My Onc finally set me straight. Only your Oncologist can tell you what is going to happen.
My PSA was 6.4. Gleason. 7. After surgery changed gleason to 9. Hd spread to my bladder, had 37 radiation treatments. Ct scan revealed five nodules in lungs. Had radiosurgery and they went away. Get ct scans every three months. Just retired. Just got back from Alaska, trout fishing, going to Mexico, on the coast for six weeks, come back get HT shot and head back down. My buddy and I are heading for Europe in the Spring. Not sure how this will work with my HT shots, but it will all work out. What will be will be. I will fight this as hard as I can, but I will not stop living.
