well, i thought it was soooooo great but got msg from MD Anderson that they see 6 mm density on mammog.( 4th yearly mammogram at MD Anderson) so i go back for diagnostic mammo and ultrsound to see what it is. then perhaps mri , if needed. i do NOT think that it is cancer but i fall into that fear category and being tired of dealing with all of this stuff. i was not going to tell you guys but decided that we all need to tell our whole journey to help others. also, i need prayers, please that this is nothing.... love to all sephie

    Mammo...
I will say a special prayer that all is well! You are right to share with others, we need to face these things head on together! At my one year PET scan for anal cancer I was NED on that, but diagnosed with breast cancer. I had secretory carcinoma of the breast, a very rare, slow growing cancer. I had a double mastectomy the next month but did not need chemo or rads at the time. That was 6 months ago and have a scan again in Dec. I always say I love fairs and used to love rides, but this is one rollercoaster I wish would end! You will be in my thoughts, please keep us posted!

I of course hope and pray for the best for you. I was diagnosed with anal cancer
in between two different breast biopsies (the first one was inconclusive), but that eventually turned out OK. I know after we have been through cancer it is always in the back of our head, but try your best not to worry too much. You know the old saying; "Don't borrow trouble."? Try to remain positive and I will keep you in my prayers.

I'm glad your booty is fine. I hope the denisty which is very small is just inflammation. I know we just want good news. Its not cancer until they prove it, and it could just be part of the aging process. I love your cat its beautiful. I wish you well and keep us posted. Lori

    Oh shoot!
I hope your other tests regarding your breasts turn out fine. I was called once by an internist on the one year anniversary of my daughter's death. Over the phone he tells me I need to see a surgeon right away - it look's like it could be malignant! I was at home alone at the time. I took down the name of the surgeon but a good friend told me to ignore him and see this really wonderful Oncologist (I wish I could remember his name). He gave me a breast biopsy (needle kind) which came back still suspicious. The doctor told me to focus on "what brings you life" and even though the pathologist recommended another biopsy, the doctor said, "let's wait". He gave me vitamin B shots once a week. Six months later it (whatever it was) was gone. But my breasts were fibrocystic (sp) and I had to get checked by a breast specialist on top of getting a mammogram every year for quite a few years. My last mammogram at MSK was fine. I am hoping your journey through this will be easy. I am glad you are at a place where they know what they are looking at!

    Fondly,
    Sandy

    Sephie,

I am glad you shared this with us and I am sorry you've had more worry enter your life.
This board has been such a safe, supportive place for me as I am sure it has been for you.
If there is one thing that we all can do for each other its prayer. I assure you that you will be in mine.

I hope that its simply a calcification. Hang in there!

That is one gorgeous cat you have :)

    Hi sephie--
I have dense breasts too and have been called back following a mammogram twice--once for a repeat mammo and the other time for an ultrasound. All was well. I hope yours turns out to be just desity as well. It's very common and can make it hard for the radiologist to see if there are any tumors. I hope you get some clear answers and that all turns out good for you!

    Fantastic!
I, too went through a scare twenty years ago, told I needed surgery but found another opinion. But was very relieved to have been cleared on my recent mammogram. We had a lousy time with our cancer but when I talk to breast cancer survivors, I don't feel so unlucky sometimes. Their treatment goes on and on forever, sometimes, it seems.
