It is of great sadness to report that Callaloo has passed away on August 17th. The following link will bring you to her obituary page and the attorney firm where she worked for the past 30 years as a partner in a Law firm. Her name was Fern Eng.

Callaloo had been fighting Stage IV squamous cell EC since early 2010. She was a frequent contributor to this board, and had compassion and support for everyone. She always showed great strength, grace and courage, and even thought of us and posted in June when her journey was coming to an end and she decided to stop the chemo that was no longer keeping her cancer at bay. I’m sad to hear of her passing, but as always, I’m glad for her and her family that she is now at peace and is no longer suffering. Thanks, Sherri.

Callaloo was a lady of great strength and courage. She was a source of inspiration of many people here. An example of how to live with cancer with dignity.

With great sadness, my deep condolences,

    So sad..
to hear of another wonderful person passing away from this terrible disease. Ironically, my Jack passed away the same day. Two great people leaving us too soon. They will not be forgotten.

    Heavy Heart
Bob, thank you for sharing this information.
Lu contributed so much to this site. She was such an elegant writer. I will never forget her post or her. She will be missed. She opened my eyes to EC in a way no others had. My heart is heavy to learn of her passing.

Saddened to hear of Lu's passing
What a shame that this EC beast took another strong fighter from us.

Callaloo fought her hardest and I am honored to have met such a strong woman. Perhaps it's Lu that will be able to convince God to give a scientist the "fix" for this beast.

Condolences to her friends & family.
