We KNOW your feeling and are praying you through. When you said you live in Alaska on the other pg, it sounded awesome from where I sit. Linda

    Nervous is Normal
It is very normal to be nervous on the first mammogram after a diagnose. The majority of women do have normal mammograms. As the years go by, they will be easier to do.

    Wishing you the best,

    I can relate
Hi, I am new to this website. I was diagnosed with Invasive ductal, Stage 1, Triple positive in Jan 2012. Had a mastectomy, did 4 rounds of DC and H. Have a year of H (herceptin) to do. I am paralyzed by my fear. Every back pain I get I fill with dread that the cancer has spread. Even though I have been given an 85 to 90% chance of a cure. I cannot live like this. I start worrying that by thinking the worst all the time, it will come true. How do I accept my "new normal"?

    carolyn33 ...reply to you
    Carolyn33,
Try to take one day at a time and keep busy with other activities ..... I am back sub teaching and volunteer a lot thru church , plus am taking lots of walks, swimming, and taking a yoga class. Maybe you could volunteer to help support other new cancer patients who need support just getting thru all you have ... believe us on this board, the fear is always there. We just need to move on and appreciate every day in a new perspective no one else will ever understand until a cancer diagnosis hits home We ARE the hope for a cure and hope for others....prayers to help your fear and anxiety .... What Sue wrote to you is good advice. Just take it one day at a time Carolyn. Ofcourse the fear is in all of us, but with time, it does lesson. Don't let cancer steal any joy from you!
