MMMmmm this is for Phrannie....

Shells ~ Shrimp & Garlic Linguine

Shrimp & Garlic Linguine in Cream Sauce...., course grate parmesan cheese and warm Baked French Bread....

Sauteed fresh shrimp and garlic, in olive oil, dry white wine, and heavy cream...

Ingredients

8 ounces linguine
2 tablespoons butter
1 pound shrimp -- cleaned and halved
1/2 cup Olive oil
1/2 cup dry White Wine
8 cloves garlic -- crushed
2 dashes soy sauce DO NOT OVERDO, BUT IMPORTANT
2 cup heavy cream
salt and pepper

Instructions

Cook the linguine and butter in salted boiling water until almost al dente. Drain and set aside. Combine olive oil, wine, garlic, salt and pepper, soy sauce and heavy cream in a large saucepan. Add the shrimp, stir and add the linguine. Stirring gently, cook over medium high heat for almost 10 minutes, or until shrimp is done and linguine is perfectly done. Serve at once. It will initially seem a little runny, but will set up and become a wonderful sauce. DO NOT USE HALF AND HALF! Don't cook it the full 10 minutes if it doesn't need it.

Adjust to what you feel you can tolerate...

Enjoy,
John

    John...got to tell you.....
THAT WAS DELICIOUS!! I think the garlic is what got to me eventually, but it didn't happen until I eaten 1/2 my plate....which means to me....I have 1/2 of my plate for tomorrow :). Hubby said it was very good, too....(can't totally trust myself, because EVERYTHING is wonderful to me)...but he has never been shy to say "please don't make that again" when he doesn't like something and he cleaned his plate and had a second helping.

This dish is going into my list of things to make once I get back to work...it's so easy, and hubby helping me clean the shrimp made that part a snap....

PS...Shrimp themselves, are not stingy at all....I think I'm doing really good only being in my 3rd week out of chemo....still have touch spots in my mouth....but they'll be gone by next week....

    Awesome
    Glad you liked it...

It's really good with scallops also, if you have any available reasonably priced (an like them of course)...

I figured the garlic might be a little much for you, but the heavy cream and olive oil makes it easy to eat with a compromised throat.

Like I had mentioned before, I think this was the first meal I ate (and tasted).

BTW, your meal should be even better tomorrow, once the flavors all mix together. I have left overs for lunch tomorrow also.

    Best,
    John
