I am very sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I too was diagnosed with uterine cancer stage 2B in May of 2009. I thought that the waiting to have surgery was very hard. This is an excellent site to post questions and get emotional support for the journey you and your family are embarked on. It will be challenging but you can make it through and come out the other end of the journey strong and compassionate...but changed in a number of ways. The treatments to combat the side effects from chemo and radiation have improved over the years. Take it one day at a time. Please know that there is a "sisterhood" of women of all ages and backgrounds who have gone through what you are going through and will support you in our thoughts and prayers. Have faith and stay in the present moment...All of us have shared your same fears, anxiety and uncertainties. Please keep us posted on your journey.

Thank you very much Northwoodsgirl for your support. I do find it very comforting to talk with the women. No one knows what this is like unless they have been there.

    you can win the battle!
    Hi Chrismc,
We are here for you. Also, take any support you can get from the people around you. They will surprise you with so much caring...don't be afraid to tell anyone, don't keep it a secret...let it out and let the love come back to you. Its all about YOU now.

One book that helped me when I was diagnosed was CAncer: 50 Essential Things to Do by Greg Anderson. You can get it on Amazon. I can't stress enough how important it is to get started on the right foot, with a positive attitude. This book helped me do that...it was the first one I read. You have to stay positive, because it works and also because to get scared, depressed and negative takes away from your body's healing power.

Oh, I was a IIIC, with 3 of 37 lymph nodes positive. I was hit with this when my doctor came to my bedside after surgery...but your attitude toward it makes a huge difference, because there is so much to do to get yourself well.

Cancer is a transitional process. Nothing is ever the same, but you can make a better future for yourself in spiritual and physical ways. The surgery I had was robotic, and healing was quick and after 6 weeks I felt better than I had in years.

Don't blame your weight. I also blamed myself a bit for not going to the doctor quick enough...but that is wasting your energy. Put your thoughts into going forward and winning this battle.

I am trying to keep postitive with the help of some meds from my doc.Without the meds I was not doing well at all. I feel like a science experiment, getting picked prodded and tested almost every day this week. My surgery is tentively set for Sept 9th, but I still have more testing before that day. Just can't wait till this is all over.

Chris glad you got good news from your tests
Sorry you have to start this journey with us. Is your surgeon a gyn/ oncologist? I hope so. Waiting for the surgery is hard. Take it a day at a time. I hope your surgery shows you are an early stage. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. In peace and caring.

Just returned from my Gyn.appt.with results of ct scan and chest xray. He told me that I do have some enlarged lymph nodes but everything else was clear. He called Lehigh Valley Womans Cancer Center in Allentown Pa to get me an appt which is for Tues.He also scheduled a consultation appt with a radiological oncologist for monday in the local area. He said I can have the surgery in Allentown but the treatments if needed could be done locally. I know I will probably have to have radation and chemo but I can do this. At least I feel better at this point knowing nothing else showed up on ct scan but I am aware the surgery can tell a different story.
My doctor was so wonderful, he said this can be cured. He told me to take care of myself, get enough rest and eat properly to maintain my strength.
It is just so wonderful having a support system from the girls on this message boards. I just cannot thank you all enough.

I am also being tested for Lymphoma. Enlarged Lymph nodes and a small mass were found in my abdomen in an area where they don't believe it has anything to do with the Uterine cancer.I just can't believe I may have two cancers . I am having a ct guided needle biopsy of the lymph nodes on monday so I will know more.

    Thank you for your support

    Good grief!
I hope you don't also have lymphoma! I was flabergasted to say the least when I was dx'd with both endometrial and breast cancers at the same time! When I asked why, the answer was "I doubt you'll get a good answer to that". For my cancers, however, the risk factors are the same so it sort of made some sense. Really took the wind out of my sails, tho.

Sending hugs and prayers your way that this mass and those nodes have nothing to do with either uterine cancer or lymphoma, and that it's benign!

    Hugs,

    Hoping for the best
    Hi Chris,

I sure hope you have good news when you have your test on Monday. I know how hard it can be to wait for tests and results. I was diagnosed with Endo cancer Stage 1. Grade 2 back in Jan. 2012. I had a Hysterectomy Feb 2012. I found out after surgery that I had a positive pelvic wash and had cells in my, pelvic area. I then had Chemo for 3 months and am believed to be cancer-free now! I'm 56 and overweight. I also blamed myself for getting Endo cancer at first but now I don't. It can happen to anyone. I'm sorry you have to through this living alone but there's lots of support out there for you. I joined a support group which really helps. Plus the great ladies here on this forum and other ones, too.

I know you can make it through this! I've been sort of fearful of cancer my whole life and going through chemo but I made it (with a lot of support from others, especially prayer). I hope that everything goes well for you!

    Blessings,
    Peg

    Well tomorrow is my appt
Well tomorrow is my appt with the Gyn/Onc to find out results from the needle biopsy. He does suspect that I have Lymphoma. I hope the tentitve surgery date of the 10th for the hysterectomy will become definite. I have to get this cancer out of me. It seems as if it has been taking too long and I am getting very nervous about that. Not in the best of spirits all weekend. I need answers already. And I need this taken care of.

    Thinking about You
Hi, and I'm hoping you get good news. Also hoping the surgery date will be set ASAP. I sympathize with all the waiting and worrying you have been having to go through. It makes one feel so helpless to not know what is happening with everything.

Try to stay calm and take it one day at a time if you possibly can. Take deep breaths, silly as that sounds but it gives you something to focus on.

I hope someone went with you today to get your results. Two heads are better than one in these situations.

    Went to my gyn/onc appt
Went to my gyn/onc appt yesterday and finally got some answers. The first thing he told me is that I do have Lymphoma, B-cell follicular small cell low grade and it was found very early due to the scans for the uterine cancer. He said that means there was no spread of the Uterine cancer to that area. I am scheduled for DaVinci Robotic Hysterectomy on Sept 26th. I will have one appt with a Medical Onc before the surgery due to the Lymphoma. Can't wait to at least get the hysterectomy behind me and hope that there are no surprises in the staging after surgery. Then I will have to deal with the Lymphoma.

    Cancer patient as well
    Hi Chrismc and everyone else

Had the biopsy and was just diagnosed with Uterine Cancer. Scared as hell! Have to go for blood work and chest x ray. Appointment with Onc/obgyn in 1 week for results and what will have to be done. I have a fantastic husband and family for support. My older son introduced me to this website and told me that it may help talking to those women who are going through or have already gone through Uterine Cancer! Was reluctant but thought why not? It certainly won't hurt to get different perspectives from others. So, ladies, I am sure you will be hearing a lot from me throughout this unwanted journey but I am also a great listener as well. In advance, thank you to all who can give any advice for what I am about to go through.
