We dropped my parents off at
We dropped my parents off at the airport last night...they were here visiting for about 10 days. It was a nice visit...but i am glad to get back to just my husband and children and our normal lives. We have baseball practice today for my 11 year old son...then we are going to do some housework...a little cleaning up. Tonight i think we are going to just stay in and watch a movie. Tomorrow will be a day of rest! I plan to finish up a needle work project while camping out on the sofa.

    Ahhhh the Weekend
I have labs Monday to see if Tuesday I will get chemo #12 of #12. Yeah - I cannot believe it will be done. Since I have had platelet issues before not quite sure if Tues will be a "go". Otherwise it will push 1 week, which is still great.

My plans, besides growing those platetlets is sewing, sewing, sewing in my new sewing studio.

In September, I look forward to starting the Wellness program (exercise, nutrition and yoga) sponsored by the hospital and YMCA. This is just for cancer patients and is free.

So......I will be sewing this weekend and really looking forward to the disconnect from #12.

    Best to all. Alice

    Wow...#12...it must feel
Wow...#12...it must feel good to he almost done. I am on #3 on Tuesday. Enjoy your time in your sewing room....i need to clean out my stitching room...i can't even see my sewing machine right now!LOL

    Cabin Fever
Dear Pepe, thank you for inspiring each of us to enjoy the world around us!

I have been cooped up in the house for a couple of weeks except for doc appointments for my ankle.

Going to try to get out on Sat. to the local Greek festival. It is a small one so if I can park close by I am going to give it a try. Even if I miss it my neighbor who gives her time there has promised to bring me a Gyro. Last year I was able to help her and the other ladies make some of the Greek cookies for the event. Today she brought me a "get well" gift of Baklava that they will be selling. It is yummy!

Rest up Pepe and enjoy the beach.

    Hugs,

    Marie who loves kitties

I have not been to a Greek
I have not been to a Greek festival in years...i love gyros! We were going to go to the one in Winchester Va this weekend...but baseball practice is in the middle of the day both Saturday and Sunday. So i found one that we can hopefully go to in October in Falls Church...if we don't have a baseball game that day and i am feeling up to it. Enjoy your baklava!

After a heII of a tough week with my Mother-in-Law passing away last Sunday, her wake Thursday and Funeral Friday (and my 5th very successful RFA Tuesday to mix things up), we are headed to Stony Brook University on Long Island NY as Dylan starts his college years.
I mean, how much traffic can there be headed to Long Island on a Saturday in the summer when it's gorgeous out?
    PLENTY!
Easily the 2 hour ride each way will be 5+

Tomorrow I do nothing but swim!

    Beautiful weekend
I've been away the whole weekend, so I'm giving a report after the fact. I went with 14 youth from my church to a mission/retreat weekend. Bill and one of the fathers went along, too. The worship was so uplifting, and I did some good bonding with the youth. We also bonded over some of the dancing they did just for fun (love the wobble!).

Our service project was in a nursing home. We took pocket crosses to the residents and just spent time talking to them. There was one lovely couple that just brought us all to tears. The husband was taking care of his wife, who is 6 weeks out of a coma. The love he showed her, and his pride in every tiny bit of progress she is making were just beautiful. Everyone should be loved that way.

    *hugs*
