routine eye appointment today and sending me for more test to rule out cancer in the eye!!!!!!!!!!!

Im asking because my eyesight has been getting progressively worse in one eye - i got new glasses a year ago and the vision in my right eye has deteriorated quickly and i get blurry vision randomly. Better get that checked out, huh?

This whole cancer thing started with suspicious eye lesion
for me! I was happily going through life, had an eye exam (routine) and they saw "something" on the back of one of my eyes and followed up with some photographs. They decided it was probably sun damage/a freckle, but like skin, one can get eye cancer from sun exposure, so I was supposed to check back in a year. The next month I had the routine Pap and mammogram and you know the rest of the story with me - endometrial and breast cancers. Anyway, I put the eye thing on the back burner, but about 9 months ago I decided to no longer ignore it and got rephotographed and checked. No change, so it's probably just that - a feckle. I'm supposed to get it rechecked in 2 years, so I will. But the horror of hearing the word cancer for the first time was pretty scarey. I never knew such a thing existed and this is the first time I've heard about breast cancer mets to the eye! Yikes.

I have to say, in all my years of working in Ophthalmology, I don't ever remember having a patient with mets to the eye due to breast cancer....so hopefully the doctor is just being cautious.....

Try not to worry! Along with what MAJW said...I've been working in optics over 20 yrs. and can't remember a patient with eye mets from bc either.
Sometimes it seems like there is always something coming up we need to deal with! I wish we could all take a week off from our worries!!

I'm sure it's
I'm sure it's possible to get it anywhere once we're dx.I had been on tamox for just a year.Went to my eye doctor and had a cataract.He said tamox can cause that. Also had floaters which drove me crazy.Scared me when I first had that.I saw lights all over.I thought a lightning bug was in my hair.It was the floater.Things calmed down for that but you've reminded me I need a eye exam this month.

Hope things go good for you.No cancer is found and something simple.Ny doctor said my cataract is small and we can leave it alone for now.
