Out-patient lymph node surgery tomorrow. Why am I so scared?

Hi Ladies,

The lymph node which came positive from recent needle biopsy will be removed surgically tomorrow afternoon. Since my medical oncologist is not convinced that this is OVCA, he's also having the scope put down my throat to "look around" to make certain I haven't developed a second cancer. My CA-125 from a little over three weeks ago was still 14.1

Anyway, I'm just VERY scared. Maybe it's because I've had so long to worry and think about it.

My oncologist just says this is atypical for OVCA, therefore, he's not convinced that it is, since May scans were both clean of the abdominal area.

Thanks,

Carla

    Hi Carla
Best of luck with your procedure. Being scared of the unknown is sooooo normal. All your tests look like they came out very well. Let us know...

    Thinking of you
    Hi Carla,

I am new to this board, but have been following for some time.

I just wanted to say that I am sending you good wishes for tomorrow, and that you come home feeling positive and comfortable.

    Hugs
    Lisha

PS It's so normal to be scared of the unknown. I've been feeling lots of that lately.

    FINALLY back home!
I had the node moved today. The dr. office told me to be there at 9:30 a.m. for pre-op. They didn't take me down until 3:15. GRR! I went over 25 hrs. with nothing to eat. over 10 with no water. I know I was dehydrated. They never gave me any fluids until they took me to surgery. Anyway I have a 3 inch battle scar (incision). Thankful it's over.

    Thanks Ladies,

    Carla
